Visiting Lowe Mill feels like being back in art school and wandering the studios seeing what fresh creative magic is happening all around you. My latest Happy Place.

What an amazing place to spend the day. It is an old factory that has been converted into the largest art studio in the United States. We met a variety of artists and enjoyed watching them work. The Dragons Lair is a great place to get a drink too.

We made a day trip to Lowe Mill to see the John Lennon exhibit. That was interesting, but there was so much more to see. If you are interested in art, meeting artists in their studios, and also taking in some exhibits, this is the place to go. We were there on a Thursday, and unfortunately, there weren't very many artists in their studios, but we could look in their windows and see what they were working on. We met a couple of artists and saw about half of this large complex. I will go back.

If you are an artist or you appreciate art, this is a very cool place that I think you will love. Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainmeny is the largest privately owned arts facility in the United States. Located in an old textile mill. It has 152 working studios for over 200 artists and makers, 7 galleries, a theatre, community garden, and performance venues. There are even two swings!! There are plenty of items to buy, so much to look at, and you can even take art and dance classes.

One of the most enchanting places to visit in Huntsville! It's a wonderful complex of artists with a huge variety of crafts, activities, and mediums. There are Mlmany local artists to learn about and support as well as creative communities and hobbyists. Huntsville seems well served by this fascinating place and creative hub. It's a real treasure.

Bats... The bats... Honestly I've been here many times and have only seen one and it flew right by my head. I wish there were more activities and not just retail displays. But I am so thankful that it exists. A place for artist to go and meditate and look at other displays for free. Two great eateries and a record store. If you're visiting Huntsville, this is a must stop..

We accidentally discovered this place while trying to find a local coffee/tea place.
This is such an amazing location! I wish we had had more time to spend there.
Glass blowers, plant shop, meadery, blacksmith, coffee and wine, pizza place, leather workers....so much art, so little time.

I seriously will probably never come here again because the cat urine smell is so extremely strong in all of the stairwells. They blame it on bats. However, anyone with common sense knows that that is cat urine smell. Add over 100° and humidity in the mix and it is so strong the ammonia it seems dangerous. The elevators have been out and I'm working for years.

Store elevator has been unusable for 18 months, therefore half of the shops are closed. Some of the good artists shops were closed, during operational hours. Stairwells had a nasty odor.
