“Guys here were great! Pricing was very reasonable. Originally went to get my transmission fixed but ended up having an extra issue with my alternator which they were very quick to assist me with. They really went above and beyond to get me back in my car today. Very happy!”
“This shop and staff are great. Friendly, knowledgeable, they listen, are transparent about process and pricing. Will take my vehicle there again. Highly recommend.”
“Great experience with Nance Transmission. They fixed the lead frame in my F-150, gave me the best quote I could find, and had a very quick turnaround. Several friends recommended them, and I’m glad I listened. Mrs. Katrina in the office was always kind and great to talk to. Zero complaints, I’ll definitely be back if I ever need transmission work again.”
“Have used Pro Auto for several years and can highly recommend them.
Earlier this year I brought in my 2016 Nissan NV 3500 SL (~140k miles) when it was giving cam sensor codes; owner Lee recommended trying some cleaner first before jumping to replace cat-converters, which did help some, but ended up replacing a sensor to see if it helped. At the same time, the van had an intermittent stalling issue come up, which was nigh-impossible to diagnose (different mechanics at the shop drove it many miles on several occasions).
Lee recommended I go to the dealer to see what else they could find; however, they only could recommend the same work to clear the codes... Replacement of all FOUR catalytic converters and OEM cam sensors... for >$10k! Lee offered ~$9k to do the job with all OEM components (my request) and cautioned that it might not fix the stalling issue. He did not charge labor for replacing an aftermarket cam sensor that he had already put in.
Since I had an emotional attachment to this vehicle (bought it used the year before), I made the choice to have the job done. As predicted, the stalling issue remained. We then tried replacing the crankshaft sensor, but stalling only became more frequent.
(Lee had already pointed out previously that sensors these days are frequently coming off the shelf with issues for vehicles across the board, so that standard practice lately is to try to keep original/known sensors as opposed to replacing whenever possible - my vehicle definitely helped prove that point!)
Ultimately after that, as I told Lee later, I decided to trade in the vehicle (with a check engine light, much lower value offered) to cut loose and move on with a used 2018 Honda Odyssey (92k miles) from the local dealer. The Nissan stalled three times on the 10 mile drive from my house to the dealer!
I do not fault Lee for the issue, as even the dealership did not find anything else wrong when they wanted extra to drill down into a possible cam/code issue. Looking back, I might have been able to keep the van longer by switching back to the original crankshaft sensor, but I should have walked away from the $9k cat job in the first place as Lee had expressed caution about. So much for a (costly) emotional attachment!
I hope this helps someone else, and gives insight into the character of Lee et. al.’s integrity at Pro Auto. They will go with you as far as possible and go above and beyond for the job at a fair price!”
“We were traveling home from visiting family and our van stopped working. The staff was so kind to help us and even stayed after closing to fix our shifter cable. Thanks”
“These guys are honest, skilled and efficient. I took my truck to 2 different places who each said they couldn't fix it. But these guys did. And didn't bankrupt me in the process. Highly recommend.”
“The crew at LBJ is your go to shop excellent customer service and they get the job done. Chris the owner doesn’t mind getting his hands dirty either he will jump right in there also and get you back traveling down the road .”
“Needed A/C repair due to my vehicle having intermittent cooling issues throughout road trips. The staff was easy to talk to and worked the problem on 3 separate occasions. Each time I returned with the same problem they charged me for the service. On the 3rd occasion when the culprit was identified they replaced my compressor, and dropped the service charge based on each occasion I came in. Great guys, superb work, and reasonable in negotiation. Thanks for the service Daryl, Jerry, and Staff.”
