I would like to give a shout out to the guys at Mavis Irondale.
After having some tire issues, I took my car to Mavis, these guys offered options along with great customer service. I was so impressed that I am taking my vehicle to Mavis for any issues that arise along with getting my oil changed. Great job guys !

The customer service received from the mechanics were top tier from the beginning of service to the end. I had an emergency tire issue right before the store closed and they worked me in to endure top safety.

Mavis Tires in Irondale. I have no car. Will update until this is resolved.
I took my 4 year old Outback to Mavis Tires yesterday for an alignment and an oil change. This was around 4pm and they were only working on one other car.
Someone comes and tries to sell rear brakes for $500, I say not at this time and he says the oil change is done and they'll get started on the alignment. Alignment is done and my car is brought around front. $220. $109 for alignment, $75 for an oil change. Idk.
I hear my car as I approach it. I ask why is my car loud, I'm told that's common with new services like mine and will go away. I get in the car and just sit for a sec with the foreign noise and unfamiliar rough feeling-- the info panel shows the oil light on and wants me to update the maintenance schedule. I put in a distant date to clear the screen and put my car in reverse and the whole panel lights up. All the lights. I put the car back in park and call over to the open bay. The guy comes back and asks if I'm concerned about the oil light that he knew was on. I said yes. Along with the knocking/ clicking noise, rough feeling, and entire panel. He jumps in the car and drives it into the neighborhood behind the store for 10 minutes.
Ugh. I'm making this too long. Sorry.
After lifting my car back up in the air for awhile, he brings it around front with an explanation of "I thought you only needed 3 liters of oil when you needed 5, I added oil and the light is gone." The car is still louder than before. I get in it and tap brakes and the car makes a high pitched noise. Everyone sitting in that bay waiting to go home within the next 45 minutes looked up and over at me. No one moved as I put the car in reverse and the noise got more shrill. I just sat there in that position until the same guy comes over and says his boss thinks that he got oil on the belt while adding it.
Does something to the car in the bay, drives it off again for another 8-10 minutes. I hear him before I see him. Goes back into the bay. The transition team guy comes out and says they have to keep my car.
They did not put sufficient oil in. My motor is gone. It will have to be towed somewhere that works on motors.
I request it be towed to the dealership. He counters that he has a relative with a shop in Tarrant that's good. He later says towing to the dealership for estimates and work will cost them $1000s more.
He offers up one of the technicians to give me a ride home. I decline. He says he's off on Wednesday, will still update though his regional manager, and will get a rental set up through Enterprise first thing in the morning. I ask for the regional manager's name, Chad Palmore.
I gathered my belongings from my (still running?) car, and left. Not sure if it will go where I requested.
I have no car. No rental car. No contact with anyone from Mavis. Will update I can.
As of right now, I don't recommend Mavis Tires of Irondale to anyone.
My car sat strange after an alignment (their bread and butter) and an oil change (a simple fix) resulted in a destroyed motor due to no oil. I don't even know where my car is going and I was told they had no idea how long it would be before I get it back.
Buyers beware.
...........
Update @ 6pm
Spoke with the regional manager twice. He shared that he was making arrangements for the car rental, that it would be paid for by Mavis until my car was fixed and returned. He said he would reimburse the cost of the Uber and the oil change from yesterday. He said my car would go to one of their approved places (not a Subaru dealership) and they would do what is most cost-effective but that that would not be with a "shade tree mechanic". He said they will replace my engine with a used on

Michael did me a solid. Not only did he get my car in to the shop quickly, he addressed other issues that another shop (we’ll call them Mercedes Birmingham) screwed up on my car.
I will definitely be back to use Mavis in Irondale. Thank you Michael! ??
