Very disappointed with Lowes Home Improvement, Leeds AL. This past weekend March 18-20, 2022; one of our clients purchased 100 - 2x4x10, 20 - 2x6x30 and some other items here. This man is 68 years old, with a back injury and is also a Vietnam Veteran. He has been purchasing all of the materials for a new addition at his home from this store. Aftwr the purchase of the lumber This past weekend, the cashier DENIED him the military discount (that he earned and so deserves). Not only that, this older gentleman with a back injury was told that NOBODY was there - IN ALL OF LOWES - nobody was there to help load the 120 sticks of lumber onto his trailer. He had to load all of the lumber by himself, with NO assistance from any Lowes employee. I said I'm very disappointed with Lowes in Leeds, AL... Disappointed is probably a little sugar coated, just to be cordial. Utterly disgusted is still a little sugary, still being cordial. We own a small business and have spend many thousands of dollars with Lowes, actually in Leeds, AL through our business. We are also in the middle of our own home second remodel. Not only have we spent thousands through our business, we have spent thousands on our own personal home, barns and property. Home Depot, Webb and 84 Lumber are looking pretty good to our business and ourselves. Lowes will not blink at losing our small business and our personal business as homeowners and the money we have spent in this store. Thousands of dollars to Lowes is pretty small in comparison to their daily monetary intake. Thousands of dollars to a small business owner, husband and wife team is a lot of money. We discussed our other local options for hardware and such. We decided our hard earned money will be spent with a company that cares about their customers. Not just the customer, but the morale of a customer who just spent a little over a thousand dollars and was denied his earned military discount and also had to load 120 sticks of lumber, with a back injury AND... NO help from any Lowes employee at all. It is a sad day when a cashier won't find SOMEONE employed by the company they work for to go help an older gentleman load that many sticks of lumber... It shows some of us, how much Lowes Corporation just don't care and allows their hired help to care less. The lack of customer service, simple human compassion and denial of an earned military discount all in a single transaction said so much more than many decent transactions we experienced over the years at this Lowes in Leeds, AL.
