I hesitate to write this because it's a small town and people create favorites in their mind who can do no wrong sometimes. I won't go there anymore, for gas or anything else, because of how a friend of mine was treated. He gets sodas out of the machines (which look like they haven't been serviced in 2 decades). If you get the wrong soda, don't even bother to report it, but his situation was worse. He was buying sodas the night before, back when a can was still .75, and came in to get some lost money in the machines. He put $1.50 into the machines to get a soda, not noticing they had changed to $1 each (which is beside the point). The point is the machine "ate" his money and didn't return it. He came in, the next day (because he had been told before, if you wait longer than a day, you lose the money) and asked for his $1.50 back. This grey haired woman looked at him (i was watching from the corner, they had no idea i witnessed it) and she looked at him funny, mentioned they were $1 each and there was no way he could have lost $1.50 (like the machine was just incapable of messing up and taking it). When he clarified it was $1.50, she gave him back a dollar and "snottily" said, "Take the $1 or nothing".
Folks, I've been in the service industry for 35 years. You don't talk to customers like that and you don't short-change a customer ESPECIALLY for an amount that small, it kills repeat customers. She treated him like a lying thief and didn't bother to consider that sometimes machines just malfunction and eat change and the amount is irrelevant. Well, he decided to remove his post and i found out (tonight) and decided to list it. You just DONT treat people that was, especially when you're ignorant of all the details. I also know the vending industry and i know that machine in particular, it's taken close to $10 from me in the past few years. Luckily, i got my money back by dealing with another employee but i've seen her in there before and i avoided her.
Hence, he and i will never go back to that place again and buy gas or anything else from there. I won't argue how it happened, i was there. Normally, most of the employees are nice but this incident (which happened months ago) really floored me.
I don't blame the manager, i heard he's a great guy but if this woman treats others like she treated him, it makes sense that the store isn't 5 star and that's all i can say on this matter. They lost two customers because one of their employees was condascending.
Anyone knows you don't argue over something less than a dollar, especially when you can't really prove you're right. But, their employee did and it cost the whole store future income.

The staff is always kind and helpful. I am glad they sell milk here because it saves me having to drive so far to the grocery store just for that.
