Our room had bed bugs (especially in our beds), some nasty black stuff on the back of the door, a tub with black marks and dripping faucet, a dirty, smelly refrigerator, mold on the vents of the A/C and the guy at the desk had a bad attitude. To rectify the problem, we were offered to move to another room and receive a $10 credit or simply check out. This is a very small town with this hotel being the only one in town. They suggested the "motel" down the street. It was already nearly 10pm and my aunt is handicap. I suggested we get help moving to the new room. The woman (Bonita) from the desk did come and help. I went back to tell them other problems with the room the man at the desk was unapologetic and rude! I also mentioned 1/2 off the 1st night (of a 3 night stay for 2rooms, totalling nearly $500) would be better compensation. He said to me, we're done here ma'am and also said they rectified the problem with giving us a new room. My issue is bed bugs may have already got into our things before we moved. I feel itchy and creeped out! I am totally disappointed and will never stay here again!!

The owners of the Rutledge Inn were so warm and welcoming! Comfortable beds with continental breakfast. It is a perfect place to relax and enjoy a slower pace.

Walkability: Dollar general, gasstation ,and bbq resturant in front of hotel all in walking distance

Just passing through - well lit front parking area with a restaurant in front and gas station close by. Checkin/out was easy and pleasant. Dated but it got the job done. I would suggest calling ahead and asking them to turn on your AC unit. We checked in late and the room was so hot - and it’s 90 outside. But, the room cooled within the hour or so.
Our room didn’t have a deadbolt safety lock thing or a latch lock.
The breakfast consisted of waffles, cereals, muffins/pastries. No meats or eggs.
Good for the price and will stay next time we pass through.
Didn’t use the pool - but said it was closed for repairs.

The hotel looks great. Very clean and quiet. Only complaint I have is that when you put the key card in the fob to enter your room it doesn't want to censor it and when you exit your room, it doesn't want to latch all the way. So whoever is in charge of this hotel like the maintenance/ Manager needs to go through every key card. Check every room and see if all the cards work in each individual room . There has been multiple times where we had to fight the door to open because the card wouldn't censor correctly. So who ever is in charge need to restart the whole system. The reason why I'm saying this because it's a huge safety issue and it has to be fixed in a proper manner to keep people safe & their personal belongings.
I don't know if they will do it or not but I'm just giving them the heads up. :)
Safety: Needs to have a better security system towards everyone's rooms with proper key cards sync correctly

It a nice hotel to stay at if u traveling to luverne or in the area great bush bbq restaurant right in front of the hotel the rooms are great but they got to fix that pool guest like pools at hotel so I hope the next time I come home to visit the pool will be fix but it a great hotel good location dollar general store in the area and gas stations so yes great location customer service was great when I was there no loud noise in the area quiet place to stay the breakfast is ok not a big fan of it but there mc Donald's and hardess not to far from the hotel just in town of luverne,but other than that my stay was great thank you

Just needed a room for 1 night on a road trip. Picked this one based on price and rating plus it was on our route. Location was decent being next to a gas station and there is a BBQ restaurant in the parking lot but it closed before we arrived. The lobby was clean and quiet. The guy who checked me in was friendly and informative but also quick. The ac had not been turned on before we got into our room and it was HOT considering it was 96 degrees outside. It did take a while to cool down, but we were freezing when we woke up. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The shower had great water pressure. Room was clean and they provided lotion, shampoo, makeup wipes, shower caps and condition in the bathroom. There was a small hair dryer. The TV was a good size for the room. I didn't make it down for breakfast, but it did smell good. I did glance over and it appeared there was cereal and a waffle maker and coffee. Check out was fast. I just handed the guy my cards. The pool is closed for repairs currently. They did have a small area with a treadmill, bike and bow flex kind of machine. We did order food and about 2 miles down the road are a few fast food places. I would definitely stay here again, especially for the price and convenience. .

Staff is nice, rooms are acceptable. Breakfast is cereal and waffles. All in all for the money, good place.
