Felt like having some fried chicken for dinner. We stopped off and went to the deli section of this Publix. They had their standard box of fried chicken with eight pieces of chicken. Two legs, two thighs, two wings, and two breasts. I mentioned to the worker there how I really didn't want the breasts. She said no sweat, she could remove the breasts then reweigh the box and just charge me for the remaining pieces. I noticed they were selling only the breasts there individually for about what the 8 pc price. So I figured if we remove my breasts it should bring the cost down sufficiently. I told her to go ahead and remove the breasts. She removed the two breasts she reweighed and repriced the box. To my surprise the price went UP and not down. At the new price it would of been cheaper to buy the 8PC box at full price and throw away the breasts. After that experience we ended up going to KFC.

Publix has grown considerably from its Florida roots and that is a fortunate thing for people in the communities where this amazing supermarket opens a location This particular location sits close to the Huntsville and Madison border in Alabama and I am confident that people from both areas will "go the extra mile" for this particular supermarket. Publix has forged a great reputation for its customer service, buy one, get one free (BOGO) deals, and we certainly cannot forget their great subs, affectionately known as "pub subs." It is through the above mentioned business practices that made Publix the supermarket to beat here in the southeastern United States. I drove from my hotel here and it was about a fifteen minute drive and worth it to get some Publix iced tea.

Unacceptable Customer Service! Went to this Publix yesterday around 4 p.m. to get one item. Found it quickly, then headed to cashiers. Only two were open, one for under 10 items, the other, a regular checkout. There were 7 people waiting in each line! Ridiculous! I went over to the customer service area (which was next to the under 10 checkout) and asked if they could open another register. Eventually they did, at Customer Service, and of course, the folks at the end of the line were first to be checked out since the cashier did not ask for the "next in line." Won't be going back to this Publix - too many other options with good customer service in the area.

Nice place lots of selection. Stores are usually very clean and most staff are very helpful. Store do tend to be on the pricey side. They have a lot of specialty products.

Went in today to get a few items. Normally I have a pleasant experience but today really had a different Ora. At the checkout. A woman named Julie was ringing me out.. before she got to me in line, she yelled out VERY rudely to her supervisor saying "who is going to relieve Me-- I need to go" even though her supervisor was helping a customer at her station. This woman kept calling over and trying to talk over her while the supervisor was helping someone. Which to me, naturally upset me because I work in retail, and understand how rude it was to both me as a customer having to hear it, and secondly it was rude for Julie to yell across the room trying to get the attention of her supervisor who was busy. So of course, I get up the line and Julie is ringing up items up. But because she couldn't get the supervisor to come over and relieve her, her attitude got worse. She didn't greet me AT ALL! As someone who works in customer service, I know we have bad days, and I know we might be scheduled out a certain times and things happen. Doesn't mean people don't notice when you react the wrong way Julie!

I had the best experience today at this Publix. I am new to the area and it was my first time at this store. The store overall is very nice. Lots to offer, very fresh fruits/vegetables and meats. But what really stood out was the customer service. A very nice man, who I'm sad to say I can't remember his name, bagged my groceries, helped me out to my car with my cart of groceries, helped me unload them into my car, all while chatting with me. As a new resident, not really knowing anyone, this was a very special experience and made me feel like we made the right decision moving to this area. I will definitely be going back to this store!

This review is for the pharmacy. The staff is rude and uncaring and made me feel like a leper for picking up my medication. They made me wait an hour. I would avoid the pharmacy at all costs.

This is a smaller Publix. They just remodeled. Yesterday, they had a festive guy at the door dressed as Santa, and some other oversized costume hamming it up around, which was cute. They had numerous food demos going on, but I didn't taste any and I saw a sign near the magazine section that said "no longer offering 5% discount to Seniors on Wednesday, enjoy our other ways to save." Their wine selection is good. They had an Italian pinot grigo in a box that was actually good. I wish it would reappear. I'm sure they would order it if I asked the manager. You can get in and out quickly by checking out with just a few items at the Customer Service desk. Viva le grocery!

So excited to have a new Public right around the corner. This is going to be very convenient. Great choice to tear down the old building and build a new one. Can't wait to see what the new center of Madison looks like.

Really hate that anyone no matter how many items a customer has they let them go through the express lane. Just open up another lane quit being cheap treat the large order customer the same as the small order customer.

I used to be a Big Fan of Publix, however this store has declined over the last couple years. The employees are friendly and that is nice. However, I sense they have reduced the number of cashiers and it takes a long time to check out. Kroger is taking over as the best grocery in this section of Madison County.

I love this Publix it has some of the friendliest employees of any grocery store I've been to. They take competitors coupons and they have double coupon days it's great.

(The Focus) Food and service (The Story) So I was in a hurry getting lunch at boars head for me and my friends when I come up to our maker of sandwich "Nola" , she gladly greets me and asks me what I would like and I tell her my friends orders first. However what she doesn't know is that I have never eaten a boars head sub before so I don't really know what I want. I have to tell her that Im still thinking about what I want 5 times before she gets the hint that I'm new. After that her tone and attitude changed completely, she started out nice and simple like other makers of the sandwich or sub do, but she changed into a impatience, smart talking, rude lady at the end. I swear that when I looked at her eye to eye she was constantly giving me the "Are you serious?" face everytime. The food was overall good but the service was just plain rude and uncomfortable. (Final Analysis) Good food, scary service. -The Inspector

I really love shopping at this Publix. It's always very clean, the produce is always fresh, and the employees are very helpful and courteous. I also like the store layout (although that may be just because I'm used to it and I now know where everything is). I use the pharmacy here too. They are always super fast when filling my prescriptions and so polite. They make it very easy to pay for your prescription up front with all your groceries so you don't have to make two transactions. Also, the pharmacy actually keeps LONG hours compared to most pharmacies so they'll be open almost any time you go in. There are always delicious goodies at the deli. The slow cooked full chickens are awesome for a quick dinner to take home to the family. My only complaint is something that can't be fixed. I wish this store were larger so that more selections could be added in certain areas. I always appreciate the offer of taking my groceries to my car (I usually decline because others need this service more than me).
