I'm not sure if the man with the beard is the owner or what but he is extremely ignorant and needs to be educated. I visited today for the first and the last time to buy milk for my child since DG was pretty much empty and other stores like Target and Publix are further away. My husband, who is white, would always tell me how funny the guy is whenever he comes in so I decided to give it a chance. I pulled out my debit card and the guy asks if it was EBT. I repsonded what? Ebt? Does it look like I have EBT? He nodded his head. Surprised, I asked him what makes him think I have EBT. He did not respond and could not make eye contact. As I left, I told him to not judge people based off their race. Nothing about me except the color of my skin gave this man the assumption that I was paying with EBT. If you see this man, he is the last person that should judge anyone especially being another POC. Our skin tones are very similar. I guess he realized he put his foot in his mouth because again, he did not respond. My husband comes into this store weekly because we live in the area. He has even bought milk here and said he has never asked him if he was paying with EBT. Now, my husband is upset and disgusted by him that he will not be returning.UPDATE:I was contacted by the fuel supplier for this store and was told that CITGO "regrets" this happened and he spoke with the store owner. The owner is a female and not the old Hispanic guy with the beard. The fuel supplier also contacted the store owner and told her to contact me about the situation. I am not surprised that I was NOT contacted by this person. This only shows what type of people run this store and work there. They can't even give a simple apology, which often goes a long way. Everyone that I spoke with apologized except the people in this store. Thankfully God showed us this and we continue to not support these type of people and waste our money there. Psalm 10:15
