Good morning Laura, I truly dislike having to write this to you but you caused me so much trouble yesterday, 11/2/24 at your store. I shopped at another antique store a block away for about an hour but couldn't make up my mind. I came to your shop, had some wonderful feed back from your associates and after quite awhile I found a gift for my friends 1st. anniversary. It was brought to the counter, paid for and wrapped. I thanked everyone for their help. I was shocked as a loaded my gift in my car I was suddenly surrounded by police officers, first 2, then 4 and I think the final count was 5. So they said you called the police and said I was slurring my words, walking unsteady and didn't know if I was on drugs or alcohol. You started a situation for me that was unbelieveable at first and then I was so angry with how I was treated by the police and what continued to happen. They took my license, gave me some eye exam that I had to take my glasses off for, my glasses were left, per police man's instructions in the back of my SUV. I found them on the ground broken, arm off, lens out, obviously stepped on. I personally asked for a breatherlizer test twice, they did not want to do that but they did threaten to throw me in the drunk tank downtown for the weekend. I asked on what grounds or evidence, I was never disrespectful in your store nor was I to any of the 5 police men you called. They said they could do what they wanted. I asked for all the officers cards but only got 2, was told the other 3 didn't have one. My front door of my car was open, I was tired and went to sit down and an officer grabbed my arm and said I was not allowed to sit in my car. Again, that's when I believe the corporal officer said again "we can just throw her in the drunk tank" I just sat on the curb and my daughter pulled up. We left and picked up my car later. If you had told me you were concerned and asked me if I was okay I would have told you that I sometimes walk awkwardly because of pain of 3 degenerated discs and pretty bad Osteoperosis. Unfortunately I also have pulminary disease, in the last two months I have been hospitalized, twice in August and October, first time 8 days, relapse 2nd time , 5 days. Unfortunately you did not ask me if I was okay, I would have asked you for a glass of water so I could take my emergency inhaler and check my oxygen level if you were concerned. Unfortunately you did none of the above, you just had the police, because of your phone call, literally surround me and my car and threaten me.I am doing my best to make sure I don't just accept my diagnosis but going to kick its ass, there is not a cure but my doctors are the best and we will win. Laura, you should not have done what you did. You judged me without knowing any of the circumstances, hopefully you won't do that to the next person that comes in your store that may have a disability. I almost forgot to mention that I am disappointed, under the circumstances, I had to return the gift I bought for my friends anniversary and the policemen said you did not want me to come back to your store. I didn't bother anyone, never raised my voice, didn't break any of your merchandise, just found the gift I was looking for, thanked everyone for their help and left the store. Well there is no reason to reiterate what you did and the repercussions it caused, it has been explained above in my review. P.S. I'm considering starting to use my walking cane in case I wobble a bit, then hopefully I wont have the law called on me as possibly being drunk and or on drugs.
