I reserved a truck and a trailer, about two weeks ahead of the pick up time. The day before I was supposed to pick it up, they called me and told me that the equipment that I reserved wasn't available and that I would have to deal with it because that's Budget's rental policy. When I spoke to the manager, she told me that without a crystal ball she wouldn't know when or if the equipment I reserved would be in. She kept interrupting my questions, and finally raised her voice, telling me that if I would shut up she could talk. I thanked her for her politeness and professionalism, and cancelled the reservation through corporate.

When I called Uhaul, they price matched the rental cost, and I only ended up paying about $50 extra...which was worth the peace of mind, knowing the equipment would be there and that I wouldn't (hopefully) have to deal with the nonsense Budget on Springhill exhibited as part of their 'customer policy'. Oh, and in case you didn't read your fine print, Budget charges you a $50 cancellation fee, even though they don't guarantee that the equipment you rent will be available. Edit: in response to Budgets attempt to placate potential customers by feigning interest in this issue, I did contact Budget, multiple times, to settle this matter and was treated poorly, or with apathy. Best choice I made was cancelling my reservations with Budget and using a professional company.
