Excellent food and kind, Prompt service from this great little local spot. Both our tuna and grouper were delicious and good portions. The only thing we missed was some nice background music and maybe some more lighting in our dark corner table.

Can't tell you much about the food. Sat down and waited and no acknowledgement from the servers. Other patrons come in and got service right away. All I got was a smug look from the ladies working. Horrible customer service. Learn how to run a business and acknowledge people who walk in the door. A simple "Hi I will be right with you" would suffice.

Had Spaghetti and garlic bread wish I had not. The spaghetti was Luke warm and bland with very little meat.

Today was my first day to eat at MaGhee's on the Hill. I joined a friend who frequents this establishment for dinner and I was super excited to give it a try for lunch. The food was excellent and I was already looking forward to return trips. As soon as we finished eating, the server quickly brought our checks and we paid immediately upon receiving the check. As soon as our receipts were collected, a restaurant employee came to our table and said that we needed to leave or to move to the bar, because we were sitting at the ladies' table (as she pointed to 2 ladies sitting at the bar). I'm sure we looked stunned -we had just completed our meal, I had a full glass of my beverage (bad habit of waiting to drink after I've eaten), and truthfully, we couldn't believe what we were hearing. The employee repeated again that we had to leave or move to the bar where she would be glad to buy us a drink for moving. One of the ladies waiting sitting at the bar piped in and said "that's always our table." There were other tables available but we were apparently sitting at a table frequented by the "ladies." The restaurant was busy and other guests looked stunned at what was happening as it's a small space and the employee wasn't discreet with her request. I have never been so humiliated and embarrassed in a public place. My friend and I quickly exited the building and will most certainly never return. Truly a very rude, very disappointing experience. I would never recommend this establishment to anyone.

Wow! Way better than I expected for a little bar and grill. Had the filet. Expertly cooked and plated beautifully. Tender, mashed potatoes were fresh and tasty. Sauce on it was busy and garlicky. Salad, bleu cheese, everything, wow! A little hard to get into with traffic but absolutely with it. Lots of entree choices of various prices. Staff was friendly and attentive for our group of 16. Stop by, you will be pleasantly surprised!

Maghees Grill On the Hill was a delightful surprise! From the moment I stepped in, the cozy atmosphere and friendly staff made me feel right at home.I ordered a burger and a sandwich, and both were outstanding. The burger was juicy and packed with flavor, and the sandwich was a perfect blend of fresh ingredients and satisfying fillings. The service at Maghees Grill was top-notch, with attentive staff ensuring a pleasant dining experience. This restaurant is a hidden gem for classic American comfort food, and I can't wait to return for more delicious burgers and sandwiches!

Conflicted here, literally stumbled on this place while on a golf trip. We rolled in with 16 guys, place probably seats 24-30. It was a weeknight, so needless to say, we sort of surprised them. Staff were super gracious and attentive even though we swamped them. A steady stream of local couples came in and out, clearly a loyal following and clientele, but let’s get to it, the food was perfect. Blacked shrimp, ahi nachos, grouper, steak burger, and all the fixings were just stellar.Sometimes, when you are traveling, you want to find that local spot, not a chain, not the same bar food you can get anywhere, and not a Michelin star spot either, Maghees is that spot. Friendly people, great food, and the feeling you got to taste and experience what the local population has available on the regular. Will probably never be back, but we’ll talk about the good time and the good meal we had there for years. If you’re in Mobile, you should 100% go to Maghees. You’ll be glad you did.

Food was on time and on point. Sandra rocked service pro-style. Made a regular ol mundane lunch into something really special.
