Mobile Japanese Garden is a beautiful, free public educational natural garden located in Mobile, Alabama. It was initiated in 1939 by Kosaku Sawada and has grown over 80 years with the help of dedicated volunteers. The garden is recognized by the Japanese Ambassador and Emperor, and it serves as a Sister City to Ichihara, Japan. Visitors can enjoy a peaceful environment filled with flowers, koi, and turtles, making it a lovely spot for nature lovers. The recently improved area features a new parking lot and a western trailhead for the newly opened 3 Mile Creek Greenway Trail, which adds a 0.75-mile stretch for walking, running, and biking. The trail is part of a larger project aimed at connecting neighborhoods and parks across the city. The garden offers different views with each season, making it a fantastic place to explore the beauty of nature and enjoy outdoor activities.
Some plant markers would be amazing and a scavenger hunt for species of flora would be so cool. All in all we enjoyed our walk.

With all the improvements this place is so very beautiful. There's lots of flowers, especially during fall weather. It's always fun for us to see the koi and turtles. We also love the new pathway and can't wait to fully walk it to see how the rest of the area it.. It is a really great peaceful place in town to enjoy nature.

Great place to walk the dog, paved pathways through a large part of it.
