Thanks to NICKY and the managing rep...a complicated online reservation turned out to be fixed and made simple. Great in-store service...not so good online rental and wifi service! Recommend talking personally to Nicky and Anna!

I left some college items here over the summer so I could move home to Pennsylvania for a few months. When I got back I was surprised to find out that my “climate controlled” unit was 90°, humid, and smelled like mold. Rats had also eaten through many of my boxes and destroyed some of my things. There was rat poop and pee covering the unit and even in a lot of my boxes. Unfortunately, I did not take any pictures inside the unit, where the insulation was falling from the ceiling (probably due to the rats). However, you can clearly see the droppings on the cushion in the last picture.

The customer service representative I spoke with to purchase this storage was great, but I will never leave my things here again. I left my dorm items here over the summer thinking my unit was “climate controlled”. When I returned I had a mildewed futon full of baby spiders, mildewed boxes of decorations, and a mildew filled microwave. All of these things were completely clean when I left them there in May. Thankfully I paid the extra for insurance every month, but the climate control feature is A LIE!

Our unit they gave us was full of fire ants, then we paid for climate controlled and the unit wasnt. If I could give no stars I would. I am having to sit on the phone trying to get a refund because this is a remote site and they are not able to do it.

Anna was wonderful. Took me to see the unit which was clean. Helped me set up the app and got us ready to roll. No issues of falling insulation as I've read on other comments.Truly thankful ? for Ms Anna and all her work. Will be recommending to others

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. Don't waste your money here. They ARE NOT CLIMATE CONTROLLED!!!! And they will NOT refund your money when you have paid online and show up to a run down, no air running, insulation falling off the walls unit. It was hot, muggy, and smelled moldy. Unit also did not have a light in it. The manager, Kyle, will never answer after you've paid (he answered every call before paying). It was not worth $10 let alone the $160 I paid for something worse than my attic. Vacated the next day and I get $0 refund for a falsely advertised service. As far as I'm concerned, It's a SCAM to get an easy $160, and their Customer Care Line doesn't care about any of it.

HORRIBLE customer "Service". They'll harass you to book a reservation and as soon as you do, you magically can't get in touch with anyone. I've been on hold over an hour with customer service, but sales will answer in less than a minute easily. As soon as I express dissatisfaction, customer service disconnected the call. The property manager doesn't answer. This is all remote access, essentially as in no one works on site, but you can't access your unit at any time? I was told I was getting a climate-controlled unit. Surprise, NONE of these units are climate controlled. It is mis advertised. I even went to the Grelot location beforehand to meet with an associate, since none work at Hillcrest, and it was reiterated to me that it would be a climate-controlled unit at Hillcrest. The location is NOT mover friendly, at all. It's very uphill and the roads are caved in. Very hard for a large truck to access and turn around. The mover's told me they always damage their vehicle at this location. I am glad I had a 10x20 because the other sizes entry way is smaller than a regular door and there is no way my items would get through that space; I am not sure how anyone's does. When I got there and realized it is not climate controlled, of course I can't get in touch with anyone. My movers are paid by the hour. Overall, very frustrating experience. I would NEVER recommend Public Storage or use them ever again.

We called to rent a parking space/storage for a camper, this was disclosed multiple times on the recorded line - we were sold a 10x30 spot, great. When we arrived with our large camper, it was a literal storage unit - as in 7 ft tall, not for a camper that's 10+ feet tall. We immediately called back and left a voicemail. Shockingly, I got a call back from the property manager. He deferred me to corporate, so I called them next. Of course, corporate said that the refund was for the property manager to handle. Since then, I have left 3 voicemails and have yet to hear back from them. DO NOT USE.

got a good deal when i first got the rental. but slowly the price kept going up and up. Now there are storage units on every corner with better deals and nicer. needless to say i moved all my stuff out along with rat droppings. will not use public storage again.

I have used public storage on Grelot Road & Azalea Road in Mobile , Al and received excellent service. This was the first time using the one on Hillcrest Road, Mobile Alabama, & I was shocked & disappointed with the non- accommodating the service I received. I went on line and reserved a 10x10 to storage area to accommodate three 8 feet wide items. The door was to small to get the items in the door. I asked the manager at the Hillcrest Uhaul storage about rent a larger unit & she had none available there. So I said I will try the Grelot Road storage to see if they had a larger unit. She the jumped in her car and went to the Grelot Road Uhaul building before me. When I entered she said I could not transfer my money paid to another uhaul business nor get a refund. I had not moved in, so I didn't understand why I could not get a refund if my items could not get through the # 195 unit small door. I was scheduled to move in on Wednesday January 25, 2023, but due to a family emergency. I wasn't able to move in until Saturday afternoon. Wednesday to Saturday the unit was empty, not used at all but no refund. I was told it was a month to month rental since I did didn't move in Wednesday no refund is due to me . So I cancelled my rental scheduled to leave February 25,2023 of which I was told that I already paid for since I could not get a refund or transfer at the end of the time I was already charged . This may be my last time using U-haul based on this experience!! The manager that worked at the Hillcrest Road UHaul on Saturday sat January 28, 2023 was rude and not friendly. I had my personal Uhaul lock so I return the one from the unit as I was told to do.
