Wonderful environment clean eating area and great sweet tea. Our server,Helen, was outstanding, a truly respectful and professional customer service. We ate in and was very fast serve and a lot of food for the price.
Although Birmingham-based Jim 'N Nick's is a chain, don't let that hold you back from enjoying barbecue served up in many forms and house-made Southern sides. Grits are piled with pulled pork and spicy sauce, available only on Wednesdays. Taco Tuesdays have become tacos any day. Trimmings keep the crowds coming back with more than the usual sides of good baked beans, fries and crunchy coleslaw. We recommend the creamed spinach, cinnamon apples, mashed potatoes or slow-cooked collards to enhance the meal. To venture away from the 'cue, order hickory-grilled steak, chicken, catfish, a pimento cheese sandwich or a vegetable plate. The time-challenged can pick up a Piggie Express Combo with a sandwich, hot fries and a drink at the drive-through. But whatever you do, don't leave without some of the addictive cheese biscuits, buttery with a sweetness that contrasts well with spicy barbecue. A nice touch: Servers "tote" the to-go orders out to the car for you. There are regional brews and a small wine list. Other locations.
