On 2/21, I was craving wings from Publix. If you’re from Florida, you know Publix has the best wings in terms of size and price.
I called Publix to order 15 wings, but before I could even finish my request, the person on the other end, later identified as Jarred, interrupted and said, “We just put out several 20-piece packs. We aren’t cooking any more.” But I hadn’t even told him whether I wanted breaded or not, plain or spicy, or even what flavor. At that point, I just decided to eat something else for lunch.
Later, I stopped by Publix to place an order for a kickback we’re having this Saturday. When I got to the prepared foods area, three employees were standing together—April, Jarred, and a Black female employee who wasn’t wearing a name tag, leading the conversation.
She turned to me and asked if I needed something. I said yes, I needed to place an order for wings. Before I could even say when, she immediately said I couldn’t because they were booked up. I responded, “I haven’t even told you when.” She then asked what day, and when I said Saturday, she replied that there wouldn’t be any slots available until 7 PM. That was fine with me—I told her it’s an adult party, and things don’t really get going until late anyway.
At that point, the huddle dispersed.
• April walked over to a wheeled rack behind us.
• The nametag-less employee headed to the back of the kitchen, preparing something.
• Jarred told me he was going to check the quantity of chicken.
When Jarred returned, he started asking the usual questions to complete my order. As we were filling out the sheet, April suddenly asked him to call her phone.
I found that odd because when she walked to the cart behind us, she was already on her phone. But what was even stranger was that Jarred actually stopped taking my order to call her.
When she answered, he took his phone off speaker, looked toward the kitchen floor, then back up at me. I followed his glance and saw that both employees in the kitchen were also staring at the floor, as if something was moving.
At that point, I had no idea what was going on, but adding that weird experience to the whole situation, I’d rather not order anything from here.

I ordered a cake several days in advance. I get a call 30 minutes before I’m suppose to pick it up telling me they couldn’t do it because the cake is expired?????????? Terrible.

Instead of ringing the crippled lady they had her sit on the register. It was so sad

Always clean, organized, and stocked with fresh produce. Publix maintains the typical American family staples but further enhances the shopping experience by giving customers a plethora of new offerings along with their store brand that rivals top billed goods. The variety of food preparation items is also a welcome treat.
