Bad customer service. We had to wait 10 minutes before the two ladies at the desk acknowledged me. They had bad attitudes when asked for clarification on some things that were mentioned. Save yourself the trouble do not rent from this company!

My Mom and I made a Reservation over the phone the man who took the reservation got the credit card information and said He would text us the confirmation number. We check to see if we got a confirmation number before leaving to go pick up the car. And We found out He didn’t even put in the reservation and We called back and they told us to go to the airport and give the credit card number and They couldn’t find the reservation so we couldn’t get a car . This is the most unprofessional car rental place.

Horrible experience. 1st car had a safety issue with brakes, 2nd was leaking coolant, 3rd had an oil leak. I entrusted Thrifty with providing safe and reliable vehicles, but unfortunately, that was not the case during my recent interactions. Through all this inconvenience and wasted time, they would not refund the reservation and would only compensate with a voucher to rent with them again.

There are just too many times they don't actually have cars. I'm also sick of driving over an hour to get there and then they say 'sorry, we didn't have your phone number'. Bogus. Horrible customer service, disorganized operations. I avoid them.

I am writing to express my frustration regarding my recent experiences with your rental car service. Unfortunately, my recent encounters have left me deeply disappointed. I had entrusted your agency with providing reliable and well-maintained vehicles, but unfortunately, this was not the case in my recent interactions. Here is a summary of the problems I faced:Rental Car #1: Upon receiving the vehicle and driving to Birmingham, Alabama, I noticed a violent shake from the front of the car when applying the brakes. This was particularly evident at high speeds and caused great concern for my partner and me for the safety and reliability of the vehicle. Naturally, I was concerned for our safety and had no choice but to return the vehicle.Rental Car #2: The second vehicle seemed fine at first, but after looking over the car in the parking lot at the Mongomery Thrifty, the vehicle started to pour what appeared to be coolant from underneath the car. We immediately exchanged it. Rental Car #3: I hoped the third car would provide a trouble-free experience. Unfortunately, after simply driving it to my accommodations for the night, I noticed a large pool of oil under the car in the morning. This also created a safety concern for our travels to Atlanta, so I needed to exchange it once more for our 4th and final vehicle. I had entrusted your agency with providing a reliable and well-maintained vehicle, but unfortunately, this was not the case in my recent interactions.

Was on a flight from charlotte to mgm, got delayed 7.5 hrs and had called thrifty to pass on to mgm thrifty that I was running late. Got to mgm at 530 and found nobody there. Had to go to another company and pay 3 times my rental, otherwise would have been stranded at airport. Need longer hours at mgm so this does not happen again.

Trash customer service, confirms the booking but no vehicle available upon “pick-up”. Not to mention the customer service representatives were mocking and being sarcastic about the mistake made by thrifty.

Wish I could give 0 stars. I'd made a reservation and paid online. When I arrived to pick up my rental I was told they couldn't give me a car because they had a bunch of military people coming in who needed cars. Really? It was slick discrimination..lawsuit maybe? Front desk staff was very rude and weren't accommodating whatsoever. Worst experience I've ever had honestly. I will never again book through them. No wonder the prices are so cheap, they have the customer service to match it.

On June 30, 2021, I flew from Houston in to my connecting flight in Dallas, Texas. My connecting flight from DFW to Montgomery, Alabama (MGM) was delayed. I called Thrifty Car Rentals customer service to advise them of my delay and provide them with the new flight information. The customer service agent assured me that my car reservation was fine and there would be a vehicle waiting for me upon my arrival. He also said that thrifty will be closed but there will be someone there to give me my keys. Upon my arrival to MGM, there was no one at the Thrifty nor the hertz counter. I called customer service number and spoke to a lady named Joyce. She said that she could not help me because no one was there for her to speak to. She told me to call back the next day but I was stranded at the airport. I asked to speak to a supervisor but stayed on hold over an hour with no resolution. The supervisor refused to speak to me because they claim they were busy the entire time. I was told to come back the next day. Now that would be two days of car rental that I have already paid for flushed down the toilet. This caused a serious problem with my travel plans to see my father who was hospitalized three hours away. He is a US Veteran that was very sick and was declining medically. I was still stuck in Montgomery trying to rectify my problem while being treated like trash. I got a ride to a relatives house. I called the next morning to verify that a vehicle was available for me before I scheduled a ride back to the airport. I was again assured that one would be there. I got a ride back to the airport. I went to the counter and was told by Mr. Chris Parham that I had reserved a compact car but there were no available compact cars. I told him that I had already prepaid for the rental and I don’t understand why there was no vehicle available after I had called customer service twice. Mr. Parham replied, “I can’t help it if a person from another country that can hardly speak english told you that”. I was extremely disturbed by his comment in which i replied “this sounds personal”. I asked him to review the notes left by the previous agent the night before. He clearly saw the previous notes documenting what I had been through concerning my flight delays.Mr. Parham then told me that he could upgrade me for an additional cost. I told him that I don’t understand why would I have to pay for an upgrade when I prepaid for my car rental. He said, “ Why would I just give you and upgrade”. I stated, “you are not GIVING me anything”. “I have already prepaid for a car”. This man was unbelievable. I had just had chemotherapy the day before my flight to MCM. I explained to him that I have terminal cancer and was not feeling well and had been delayed twice through Thrifty for no fault of mine. His demeanor was very unsympathetic, unhelpful , condescending and embarrassing. His female coworker looked on as he spoke to me. He asked me to step aside so he could help another customer “while I think of what I wanted to do”. Customers in line were clearly disturbed by his actions. I became emotional crying because I could not believe how I was being treated. He finally pulled out a set of keys to give me. Mr. Parham then charges me and additional $500 for a deposit. As I am an established customer, I ask why it was more this month than a month ago with a $250 deposit. He claimed it was a new rule. So I just let it go because I was mentally drained. He wrote on the rental agreement which space the car was in(#30). As I went to the lot it was not there. I pressed the remote to trigger a sound but could not find it. I walked back to the counter and told Mr. Parham that the vehicle was not in the assigned space. He said that he would find it. As we were walking out he noticed that I was limping. I felt that his entire demeanor changed after his audience was gone. I told him that I was disabled. I have cancer in my spine.

Absolutely my last time using this agency. There is a shortage of passenger vans, so I pre-purchased the rental of two vehicles going 1 way to Dallas. I got to the airport to pick up the cars, I was told I cannot have two rentals in my name at the same time. That's not in their disclosure. I know because I read it. WTH? Ok. My husband has a card. We can work with that. I went to claim the next vehicle and was told it is a cargo van. Again, WTH? Why would I need a cargo van to go one way to Dallas when it shows 5 passengers in each vehicle on the rental request. Since I requested Managers Choice, that's what they said I was getting unless I paid to upgrade. Do you see where this is going? The man at the Hertz counter where I was picking up a vehicle at 9 in the morning was rude as... Anyway, I ended up getting one of the ones I paid for with Thrifty and Dollar refunded my pre-purchased vehicles. I walked to the Avis counter and was done in 30 minutes. I simply had to wait on a return. They even gave me a better class of vehicle. Adios, Thrifty/Dollar/Hertz. You won't get another dollar from me...EVER!

Made a reservation a month ago. My flight arrived on time and I went to get my rental to find a sign saying they are gone to see the booth next door. I find out they overbooked and no one has rentals. Stranded at the airport with no help. I called the 1-800 number and they never answered.

I had placed a reservation for a car a month in advance to be picked up at the airport when I arrived. Upon arrival I was told that there was no car waiting for me and basically that my reservation didn’t matter. I do not understand how after placing my reservation a month in advance that there was nothing waiting for me upon arrival.
