Their hours are inconsistent. If you have to close for lunch, close at the same time every day and post it publicly. If you have an emergency or something unavoidable, post the time you leave and when you expect someone to return.
They close for lunch at random times, for more than an hour and do not communicate the leave or return times. This is a major inconvenience. For example, I drive there at 1:30 pm, see a sign that says the staff will return in an hour (but it doesn’t state the leave or return time), so I come back around 2:45 pm only to find it’s still closed. I think most people have now learned to not come back & just drive to the closest location. I personally have stopped using this location because it’s a frustrating inconvenience all around.
I don’t understand how this has been allowed to continue. I filed a complaint and was told they’re short on staff. I can understand that, but the way they handle it is inexcusable. Just make the hours consistent and communicate - and honor - leave and return times. It’s not too much to ask. Also, it may help to post job openings. I checked the USPS careers, and there’s not a position posted for this location. This has been a problem for months now, if not longer.

Visited this location today during service hours at 1300, and the doors to the service counter were locked with the curtains pulled closed (lights on).If you do not have the staffing to take a lunch break - PLEASE just put a sign on the door and stay true to a return time. I’m an avid USPS supporter, and at every opportunity encourage friends and family to use USPS services… but please, PLEASE maintain acceptable standards for integrity and customer service. It’s disappointing - as this has happened to me at another Montgomery USPS location :(Hoping this changes..for the future of USPS against UPS, FedEx, etc.

This post office has caused me to pay late fees several times. Most recently, I mailed my MWW&SB bill on the first of July. It was due 7-11-23, AND AS OF 7-28-23 IT STILL HAS NOT BEEN RECEIVED BY THE PUBLIC WORKS OFFICE.THIS IS TOTALLY DISGUSTING SERVICE!!!SOMEONE SHOULD BE F I R E D!U P D A T E>>Postal services at this location is rated below ZERO..My friend who lives less than an hour 1/2 from Montgomery HAS NOT RECEIVED A BIRTHDAY CARD in more than 3 weeks.Out of state bills are received in a more timely manner than ones mailed within the state!!This poor service is causing customers to incur LATE FEES for SORRY SERVICES$$GOVERNMENT IS TRYING TO FORCE EVERYONE TO GO PAPERLESS. This gives AI more power and control. It also PUTS CONSUMERS AT HIGHER RISKS OF HAVING THEIR FINANCIAL ACCOUNTS AND PRIVACY VIOLATED.These conditions can change when Americans wake up to government agencies.

She said she usually doesn't work at that office because I was concerned about the 1.4 rating when I walked in and commented. I'm glad she was working. Receipt says, clerk 20.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I received email confirmation that Moncrief signed for my package the day prior. I got to get my package and she has a horrible attitude. She stating if there was no yellow slip in my box then they don’t have my package. She further stated she put out packages from the prior day and today. So where’s my package YOU signed for? I asked her to double check she rolls her eyes, gets up she walks half way to the back and returns saying there are no packages for my P.O. Box. USPS just let’s anyone represent them. The same old bitty is always in there with a nasty attitude being unnecessarily rude to the customers.

Door basically shut in our face saying they are closed. Impossible to call other locations to see where I can take my packages.

Horrible customer service as the other reviewers have pointed out. I took a package in with a UPS label because they exchange packages with each other and I was immediately insulted. If I can find company policy on the internet why don't they know it behind the register? It is unfortunate because people in professional positions are so quick to insult people as if they're not representing a brand. The USPS is always in a financial crisis it seems.......maybe if they take a look inside they'll see why people would rather spend their money elsewhere.

TERRIBLE WAIT TIME! I wish I could rate it 0 stars. I went to buy stamps and had to wait my whole lunch hr. What a waste of time. The gentleman was very nice but VERY SLOW. Some people left bc it was so slow. I am never going to this post office, next time I'll go to the other one by Wells Fargo and Goodwill. Also, I believe that if this post office is so slow and busy, maybe they should have 2 people working in the front.
