Room was very clean. No odors, bed was comfy. The refrigerator was a little loud. The hotel is on McFarland so we expected it to be loud & it was but we were so tired we didnt mind. Im only giving 4 stars because the pillows were small & had to be doubled up, the coffee maker didn't work, & the towels were rough as sand paper. Overall I will go back the next time we need to stay overnight in T-Town.Important things to me are:safe location ✔️clean ✔️comfy bed ✔️no smell ✔️no bugs ✔️Rooms: Very clean, no bugs & no smellsFood & drinks: Located beside a Waffle House & walking distance to other food places.

The stay was great. The place was clean, safe, everything was in working order, and the staff were friendly. This is my go to place to stay when I visit my family in Tuscaloosa.I would love for the construction on the road in front of the motel to finish up at some point, but that's just a minor thing - easily driven around.

Impressed with quality of room. Really like the ease of access to be able to park near your door on first level. Checking in was a breeze. Quiet and lots of take out/dine in close

I was charged a $100 deposit for a non-smoking room, which won't be returned for 5 business days. However, one of the comforters had a cigarette burn. The bathroom had hair strands on the walls, and mildew seeped out from the edges around the bathtub. The TV had no service. It's the worst hotel experience ever. I will never stay here again and recommend anyone contemplating stating at this Best Western Catalina location seriously refrain from doing so.

Tub drain stopped up . Changed rooms and it's also stopped up, again. Wow ! Water is horrible. High levels of fluoride and chlorine . But this is every hotel motel we go to. No matter where . Can't escape it. Wear goggles if you have sensitive eyes and Do Not Drink. Toxic ! The Mass Flouridation of America. Fluoridation, dumbing down the masses for control . Look it up.

Very clean, old fashioned motel. Very quiet, no riff raff. Feels very safe. Many places to eat nearby. Well worth driving 6 miles north of I 20 to stay here. Much better than motels near the interstate. Will definitely stay here again.

Stayed at BW Catalina in Northport for the 2023 A-day weekend. As you know, any home football weekend in Tuscaloosa can be an expensive trip. For this trip, I carefully weighed room rates against traveler reviews. I could have picked less expensive properties in Tuscaloosa, but the reviews of those painted a frightening picture. Properties with higher review scores than BW Catalina were $300-400 or more per night. This property offered the best combination of price and review rating. The location is perfect for driving to the UA campus. You can take Lurleen Wallace straight into downtown for dining and entertainment options. You can take McFarland to the east side of campus or the Midtown Village shopping district. You can take either of these routes and then use back roads to get anywhere and avoid the traffic gridlock that plagues game weekends. The property itself is simple, clean, and modernly furnished. The rooms are clean, beds comfortable, and showers hot. Rooms have mini fridge, coffee maker, and microwave. The breakfast is an accommodating assortment of hot staples--eggs, biscuits, rotating meat, waffle station--and continental ones--muffins, bagels, cereal, yogurt. The staff is friendly, present, and helpful to guest needs. I am pleased with our stay, it turned out better than I could have hoped for.Rooms: Simple, clean, comfortable, modern decorNearby activities: Downtown Tuscaloosa, Black Warrior River, University of Alabama campus, Midtown Village, and more.Walkability: Many restaurants within walking distance. Publix across the street. Walmart less than a block away. Planet Fitness less than one mile away.Food & drinks: Very solid breakfast counter. Tons of nearby restaurants with many that you can walk to.

It was confidently located near good stores and restraunts. The rooms were clean and well stocked. Parking was great! It's the fist Best Western I've ever stayed at; I'll happily stay there again on my next trip.

I have stayed here multiple times. Always spotless, easy check-in, perfect location for my purposes. Front desk is welcoming, breakfast basic but good, I'll stay here next time I"m in the area. For me, it's safe, convenient, and comfortable.

Here for business. I knew they don’t change bedding if you are there for less than three nights going in. All fine, however I didn’t know there would be zero cleanings the entire stay. I had “privacy” sign up on first day, but the rest of the time, I had things to do in the area, so I didn’t put it up but trash was never emptied or anything. I didn’t mind going to trip on towels or toilet paper, but usually, I do get trash service done at any hotels we stay in. Just a thought because it doesn’t say to ask or anything and it’s only posted about the bedding. Everything else was/is all good, my fiancé prefers to stay here over a more expensive hotel solely due to how the business reimbursement works for the company he works with.
