I bought 2 plants from Lewis bamboo last year and rated them 4 stars, liked the way the plants were packaged and arrived in really good shape . With held the fifth star because I was not sure about their hardiness.I’m in the Chicago area and we had a string of ten days with temps below zero, half of the bamboo went brown, they were in a wind prone area and I didn’t think to use Wilt Pruf.They did outstanding! Have 3 times as many canes, taller and fuller. Very excited to see them turn into the privacy screen I want them for!

Purchased bamboo to start a screen on the back of my property. Bamboo arrived well packaged and in good shape.Planted per instructions and lots of water at first.Lewis bamboo followed up with me to check on how the bamboo was doing. Never had a company do that before. Very impressive and will purchase more in near future

I ordered four of the 2 gallon Bamboos. When it arrived, it came in two boxes. In the bottom of each box was clearly a bamboo that had been grown in a pot, which I was very pleased with however, on top of each one was a little handful of roots that clearly had just been dug out of the field, wrapped and thrown on top of my order as my other two plants, although several request to have this rectified have been made, all have been denied.

My plants came with bugs, I repeatly asked what they sprayed with so I would what I needed to use to counter the aphids & white flies. I received basic instructions on how to deal with them. Not once actually helping. I ordered 2 different sizes so I could decide which one to get, received them at separately and both were covered in bugs. I have plenty of pics. 2 stars because they actually are bamboo and they are going outside in the spring so the bugs will be a short problem this time.

August 2023I have tried 5 of Lewis Bamboo Black 2 gallon plants and everyone has died within 2 months of planting them.First one was years ago but then again 2022 I thought I would try again, I bought 2 and they died within a few months. 2023 I bought 2 more with the warranty, they are now dead. They have sent me one new one but I didn't realize when I bought the warranty, the warranty was for only one plant. So now I'm out over $316.00 NO MORE!!! I'm done w them!

5/2023. So I purchased three medium size bamboo via online. Planted and fertilized twice per year with their products. HEAVY irrigation first 12 months, and in full sun. Now see the results! Exactly what I wanted in just 2 years. Thanks!

Kristin took the time to explain in detail all of the answers to my questions regarding Bamboo rhizomes and barriers. I truly appreciate the amazing and knowledgeable service she provided to me. I bought some Nigra and Robert Young varieties of bamboo and I have to say I am very pleased with both of them. They were extremely well-packed so that even though I got them at the tail end of Spring, they were in great condition when I got them. I have planted them and they continue to thrive, there are even some new shoots coming up already! I am sure they will bring me joy for many years to come as I watch them grow.

I purchased bamboo that was supposed to grow to 60’ and 3” diameter. 7 years later they have never grown larger than 20’ and 3/4” diameter. I live in Louisiana and they have been fertilized and watered every year. I don’t know if they shipped the bamboo I ordered or not, they say they shipped the correct plant, but at 72 years old I might never get to enjoy the giant bamboo I thought I ordered. I was unsatisfied with the response I received from the company and feel like I’ve wasted 7 years trying to get a nice stand of giant bamboo. Buyer beware

I received half dead bamboo and messaged Lewis bamboo for exchange. the customer service required me shipping fee and gave me such a hard time. The customer service is basically telling me it's my fault to recieve the half dead bamboo... If you thinking to purchase bamboo, DON'T!!! This store sends you damaged product!!!
