Amanda the female they have working morning shift is the most rude person I’ve ever met in there ! I added money to my card because I misplaced my bank card and had to file for another one, I go in there to load my card and she doesn’t load all the money yet it was 100 dollars short. Believe me I know mistakes happen but she had such a nasty attitude telling me it’s not her problem it’s a cash app problem demanded the receipt I found it and she never looked at the receipt until I refused to leave I waited 45 minutes while she called her manager and waited on her! The manager never showed and after staying there for 45 minutes she then pulled her register and tried to apologize something she could have done from jump that she told me she couldn’t do I’ll be reaching out to corporate because it’s one thing to make a mistake but it’s another one to act like I’m the one trying to steal from her as if I was lying before even investigating the situation! I work in customer service and I would have never done that she continued ringing up customers until I threatened to call the police!

Well...we tried to visit this Dollar General...but there was a big dude at the door who wouldn't let us in. He pointed to a hand written sign on the door that they were closed due to staff shortages. This was 5:30 in the afternoon.

This store really needs to close down...aisles always clutter, nothing on shelves,boxes to stock on carts...everytime I come someone aways standing out front on a cigarette break r on the phone I go to a lot of dollar general but this is the WORST

This the only dollar store around the neighborhood but the employees suck! They never have anything in stock. They’re very lazy, they don’t like to help associates find anything. They don’t like to go the extra mile and see if theirs things the customers need in the back. I just had DoorDash call the store and they answered. But wouldn’t answer for me. Blantly letting the phone ring. They let the phone ring all day long never answer.

Assistant manager was rude and talked down to me just because I didn’t tell her I needed cash back. Also, website says you can return something without a receipt in exchange for store credit. This assistant would not honor what it says on the website. Seems to me she is making up her own rules.

Was overcharged for a pack of water yesterday. I understand that the company is short staffed but someone needs to make sure that the prices are correct on the merchandise. They never have to worry about me coming back to Dollar General on Samford Ave. in Opelika,AL to get overcharged again.

I came into the store to buy some headphones. There was no sign that said no cash back. It was 9:30pm. My card was charged for $31.90 and including $20.00 cash back. 11.90 for the headphones. There was no cash drawer. At 9:30pm the money had been dropped and the young lady called her supervisor he said come back tomorrow. I told him I didn’t live on this side of town and he brushed it off. I called back the next day because I never got my cash back. The store supervisor told me if I didn’t have a receipt I couldn’t get my $20. He said he would check the camera but since I lost the receipt I couldn’t get my money. When I asked him how this could have been avoided. He rudely told me to go to self checkout. He could have clearly checked the camera and seen that when they opened the drawer it was empty. This happened March 30, 2023 and he didn’t try at all to rectify the situation. I hope he is not doing this to other people because I am now out of $20. I work hard for my money. I don’t work to just give it away.

I visited the Dollar General at 23 Samford Ave(aka 2nd Ave) , Opelika, Alabama this afternoon. It is as they have been reporting on the news, HORRIBLE, could not get down Iles, had to move inventory out of the way, almost fell. NEVER AGAIN. I DO NOT recommend this store.

Remodeled just so they can be the same….doesn’t stay open until 10pm even though that’s what it says on the door and they have the lights still on and an employee inside. It’s 9:00 pm and I wasted gas money coming to a closed store.Many customers came and were inconvenienced.

I love Dollar General because you can find just about anything you are looking for at a reasonable price. If you don't have a lot of money Dollar General is the store to find what you want. "So if you want to find what you are looking for. Go to the Dollar General store."

Sorry customer service.. Self checkout is the worst ever with 3 employees walking around the store.. Avoid unless you're in an emergency...
