Ozark First Baptist Church is located in south-central Ozark, Alabama. It is located in the northwest corner of the intersection of West College Street and South Union Avenue and consists of two connected building parts. The actual church is oriented in an east-west direction and has six Corinthian columns in its entrance area, which characterize the neoclassical architectural style. To the north there is also a chapel with a multi-purpose hall. The community was founded on August 23, 1848 and initially had a different place of worship. This was renamed several times before the current church was built in 1955 to accommodate the rapidly growing parish. The addition with a chapel was not completed until 1988.A nice photo opportunity, although of course there are nicer churches.

OBC is a great place to worship and be a part of a congregation. The preacher and church members are so welcoming and inviting. My family and I enjoy attending this church and participate in the various activities they provide. This church has classes and activities for every age. It is truly a family oriented church.

I haven't attended this church, however I wanted to say thank you for the delicious dinner that the church provided at a hotel I was staying at! My family and I left Florida last Thursday to evacuate from hurricane Irma. We stayed with friends in TN. Today we were on our way home and we stopped for the night in Ozark. It was such a blessing to arrive at our hotel to a home cooked meal!
