I like Publix in general. The one in Helena is pretty great. This one in Pelham I've never had quite as good an experience with.
The layout is a bit odd. And the employees just don't seem as customer focused. There is one review on here that speaks to the customer service and has a photo of a bald man with glasses. And calls him out in particular. And I will say this is the only person I've ever seen both try to help a customer and also be rude to the customer at the same time. So kudos on that I guess.
I was waiting in line and he was at the customer service desk and beckoned me to come over. Me, trying to be a little nice, spoke to the woman in front of me who had been waiting longer and asked if she would like to go over there instead. Meanwhile he stared at me and started beckoning at me like I was an idiot or a dog. Even if I had gone over there I'd have been a little pissed at this point since he's treating me like I'm an idiot for trying to be nice to the lady in front of me. I mean how happy did he think I was going to be after he beckoned at me like I was a dog.
Then once I did check out the two ladies at the counter barely acknowledge me and instead spoke to each other about how they are sick and need to take some medicine etc etc. Nice. Glad you are handling my groceries.
Always treated very nice at the Helena location. At this one it's about this way every time.
