HEY, just a shout out to you folks. This is posted in many other places, but I think it is important for you to know that HOME DEPOT gave me your company's info, and told me that you would reach out to me in Alabama for an install quote. Guess, what? nothing heard for a week, so I called you people. got some fly by night answering service, left a name and number and the HOME DEPOT info. Nothing after 2 more weeks. Please feel free to go fuck yourself. I found someone else that answered my request right away. for everyone else, beware.

Great support - I recently had an over-crank fault on my Generac 22KW home generator which require a service call; based on an email notification from the mobile link app. The lady who answered the phone at APS was extremely helpful recommending having my first annual service call a month early. She then linked me up with the scheduler who was able to have someone out in less than a week. The technician (Billy) arrived within the scheduled window and was very professional and friendly. He was able to get the generator running within a couple of minutes. He attributed the over-crank condition to the gas regulator. I had previously experienced my first over-crank fault 6 weeks ago and was able to clear the fault and completed a manual start. I had been unable to get the generator to start this time, despite it running through several attempts before the over-crank fault kicked in. Given the fact this was the second time in less than 2 months, I had the gas regulator replaced. The technician did a great job replacing the gas regulator and checking out the generator thoroughly before completing the first annual service. I was extremely pleased with everyone I dealt with at Auxiliary Power System, Inc, and thankful for having the annual service agreement in place, that limited my cost to the replacing the gas regulator only. Thank you for the great support!Service: Electrical power restoration

Very professional and attentive service. The technician was very knowledgeable and able to get our generator up and running without any issues. He also went out of his way to explain how the system worked and what to keep an eye on. The cost was fair and exactly what I was quoted when I scheduled my appointment. I will definitely continue to use Auxiliary Power Systems going forward and will recommend them to others.

DO NOT use these people. They are absolute THIEVES. We called Generac because we were having an issue with our home generator. Generac gave us a few options and we just chose this business because it was the first one they gave us. They sent out a person to "fix" the generator a week after the call and he went through the generator and did a "service" on it. He changed the oil and filter and charged us $300 dollars for it. We were confused as to why he even performed the service because it didn't need it, but the generator was working when the service technician left so we paid it. (They are VERY insistent on getting paid on the spot. Now I know why.) The generator was not working again a couple days later so we called them again and they came out (a month later) and replaced the regulator to get the generator working. Turns out, this was the actual problem. However, they charged us ANOTHER service call of $300 dollars! We ended up paying $600 dollars for them to replace a $75 dollar regulator. When we tried to protest, they said they were "actually saving us money" because they charge $150 an hour PLUS $1.50 a mile to come out and service a generator. So they are basically doubling down, on their fees. So you are paying these guys $150 dollars an hour to drive a truck to your house, PLUS $1.50 a mile for their gas. That is $240 dollars an hour (at 60mph) just to come to your house!!! Then, they made a mistake and expected us to pay for it. They are not honest, they are greedy and on top of that, they don't know what they are doing! I have two degrees, and 25 years of experience in missile defense, I don't get paid anywhere near $240 an hour! Who would have known that all I have to do is drive a truck around and pretend to fix generators and I could make way more than I am making now! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!Service: General repairs

The folks from Auxiliary Power Systems provided some of the best customer service I've ever encountered. From the initial sales call, all the way to installation and maintenance, they have been courteous, professional and have gone beyond what I would consider GREAT customer care. If you are going to buy a backup power generator (Generac) in Alabama, I can surely recommend these folks. In a world where customer service and satisfaction is all but dead, these folks are delivering it in spades. Chris Crane sold us the unit and was courteous, knowledgeable and didn't hard sell us. Daryl Graves and his assistant got here at 7am on the day of installation, and due to a snafu by Alabama Power, stayed until 9pm that evening getting the system up and providing us power. The final install and inspection was done by Billy Smith, all of which were super to deal with. Finally, all the arrangements and logistics were accomplished professionally and superbly by Karen from the Pensacola office. a great company, with great people, and so far a great burden lifted knowing we have back up power now during the multitude of outages we experience each year.

Rarely do I feel the need to give a bad review but in this case it's deserved.I have a 20 YO Generac standby generator that has given good service but wasn't resetting when power came back on - it would continue running for hours or until I shut it down manually.I rarely need standby power - the unit only has 320 hours after 20 years so most of the hours are from the weekly "exercise" cycle. But, I want it to work when it's needed.I travel frequently so I was worried about the unit running and not shutting down so I wanted it fixed before I left town. So after spending $200+ for a service call, they claim I need a new transfer switch. I said "OK, please give me an estimate". 8 days later, still no estimate. So, I called on three separate days and asked when I could get a price.Today, I called, waited on hold and was told "we emailed the supplier and haven't heard back yet". Asking about when I could get a price: "it would be 12 to 14 weeks before we could get the part".This company must have too much business because they clearly don't care about customers.Home Depot/Lowe's and Costco here I come!

From the very first call to request a quote for a home standby generator until the completion of installation the entire staff at Auxiliary Power Systems has been a pleasure to do business with. Ralf arrived on time at the time agreed on and was very knowledgeable in helping me determine the correct size generator for my home without trying to over sale. The office staff was very efficient in getting everything scheduled, nothing they scheduled had to be changed. Daryl and Joseph arrived on time ready to work and did an outstanding job with the installation under less than ideal weather conditions. I highly recommend A. P. S. to anyone looking for a home standby generator. They are great people to do business with.

I write this in November of 2020. We purchased a 22kW Generac system running off of LP for our home and service contract from Auxiliary Power Systems in Remlap in Oct 2014. We are in the Vance/Woodstock rural area and mains power goes out often. The 22kW is sufficient to run our entire home; 5T heatpump, hot water heater, water well pump, security lights, video security system, laptops, computers, 2 refrigerators, dehumidifier, freezer, pool and pool heatpump, multiple TVs, overhead projector, CPAP, etc. While the system has lockouts for the heat strips and pool, the 22kW can and has pulled the entire load without the lockouts. A 500gal LP tank filled to max capacity of 80% (400gal) is calculated to last a little over a week. We have had several technicians come and service our generator. All have been wonderful, most have been prior service (thank you for your service). I see a few reviews that got a bad egg that got fired. This can and does happen to any company. On one occasion our maintenance schedule was overlooked, on another occasion we were charged for a battery that was actually covered under warranty but on both occasions, Janice fixed both issues. In fact the last issue she fixed without me even knowing it or having to say anything and it was just barely within warranty. When I was charged, I figured it was not covered. In the six years we have owned the system, the transfer panel had one failure and the generator has had a failed battery replaced. But mains power has failed many times and the Generac kicks in automagically every time. We have never been without power. The failed battery was detected during a weekly test and APS came out quickly to fix it. Just this last week with Hurricane Zeta, mains power was out for over 15 hours. Fuel consumption was approximately 6% or 30 gallons (80% - 74%=6% of a 500 gal tank). That's 2 gal/hr. We had power from the Generac the entire time. Failures are going to occur with anything. What is important is how they are dealt with. APS has provided excellence in initial sale, installation, continued regular scheduled maintenance, and repair as needed so we have never been without power during the many many power outages over the past 6 years. In our book, that's a 5 star rating. As far as Generac itself, I do wish they used a different charging system and had a longer warranty. All my vehicles are on Battery Minder 1500s or Battery Tender 800s and I have batteries still in service that are 10 years old. Battery life is all about HOW the battery charge is maintained. Generac needs to use this technology. It's the only way to get lead acid battery's to last more than 4 or 5 years. Generac makes it's own motors and alternators here in the USA, they are quality. The electronics...well we don't make many electronic/electrical components anymore. All those jobs have been farmed out overseas and the quality suffers across the board whether it is TVs, laptops, cell phones, WiFi routers, HVAC or power controllers. This trend is not the fault of Generac nor Auxiliary Power Systems. We have but ourselves to blame. If you are considering a Generator for backup power, please figure required regularly scheduled maintenance in your budget, and battery replacement every 4 or 5 years. I know it's terrible when you get a bad egg, been there, but keep everything in perspective.Services: Installation
