BI is the only bank in the town where I live, only makes sense I'd open account there right? Apparently not! They denied me an account before I ever finished explaining my needs! Currently I'm considering a lawsuit to include slander, defamation, negatively affecting my ability to participate in commerce and discrimination! As a Service Connected Disabled Veteran I don't think I have a choice in fact I see it as my responsibility to check them! Get ready for it Bank Independent!

The customer service representative accused me of depositing a fraudulent check, which in fact was not. Treated me like a criminal. The experience was so bad I no longer want to bank with bank independent any more. Me and my entire family bank with Bank independent and we will all find another bank. I have NEVER overdraft my account not 1 time in the 8 years I’ve banked with Bank Independent, I was completely shocked by the I was treated.

Do not talk down to your long time customers who have brought family members and friends to BI as customers. I had a problem recently & was treated rudely. This was uncalled for. When asked about not having a 36.99$ fee on an overdraft, I was told "we get our money, one way or another, we get our money".Will not recommend this bank to anyone again due to my rude and totally uncalled for treatment.
