Couldn't have met a better group of people! We were on our way home from our vacation and still had 10.5hrs to go when our my suvs water pump went out. Sue gave us recommendations for towing and places to eat ontop of giving us a short ride so we could rent a car for the time being. She was friendly and willing to help in any way she could. She understood we were trying to get home quickly to our 3 yr old daughter and had us back on the road as quickly as they could. They did not make any promises they couldn't keep and were straight forward honest people. They answered any questions we had along with keeping us updated on things so we could hit the road asap. On top of all that they were the only shop willing to work with our warranty. They really saved us big time and if I could give more stars in this review I would!

I'm a Troy alum, and I came to town to visit for a few days. I hit a possum on my way in and could tell something underneath was dragging or flapping while I was driving. Brought my car up to them this afternoon and was in and out within a half hour. Sweet folks, quick service, good repair.

Three Notch Auto Repair saved me $8000.I drove over a log and shortly lost all forward movement with my truck although the engine was still running fine.Had it towed to the Ford dealer in Troy and they said it slung 10 codes and needed a total transmission replacement and discouraged trying to have it rebuilt. They quoted me $8800.I called Three Notch Auto Repair and after explaining what happened they said they’d at least fill it back up and see if I had destroyed my transmission or not and let me know there was only a chance I might not need a replacement. I had it towed over and in a couple days they called to explain I needed one part to be able to fill it back up with fluid and test it. They told me it would be ~$400 and even broke it down by parts, labor, and transmission fluid which I appreciated, and again explained there was about a 50/50 chanced based on what I described happened that it would need a transmission replacement. I told them to try it.A couple days later I was told to come pick up my truck and that it was running fine. When I went to pay I was told the transmission might go out sometime but right now it was running well.I have already put 3000 miles on it with zero issues.Three Notch Auto Repair has real mechanics that diagnose issues not technicians who just read codes.

Have been using them for over a decade. They are affordable compared to most places and always get my vehicles fixed like they should be. They have been in business for decades and have a lot of customers so everything might not be super fast but it's a reason they're so busy.

Absolutely terrible. I wish Google had more stars so that I could give 10 stars down to this place. The motor went out in out toyota on the way home from a football game. We chose to get it towed there due to being rated failrly high on google. Big mistake and a huge waste of time. They never once called us with a diagnosis or an update. We had to call and the lady in the office was not very helpful and kept giving us the run around. After having our vehicle for over 9 months and not accomplishing a single thing she decided that she was no longer gonna answer our phone calls or call us back. I tried calling one more time befor deciding to go a different route and low and behold..no answer. Ended up using a different company who called minutes after I did and she actually answered and claimed that she called us and told us to come pick it up because there was nothing that they could do. Like I said.. Me or my wife did not receive a single call, text, voicemail, screw you or anything from her for well over 9 months. Would not recommend this place to anyone for anything.Service: Engine repair
