University Mall in Tuscaloosa is a moderately sized shopping center that has seen better days. Many storefronts are empty, reflecting a decline in tenants over time. Despite this, some well-known stores like Bath and Body Works, Journeys, Belk, JCPenney, and Victoria's Secret remain open. The food court has only a few options left, with Applebee’s and Auntie Anne’s being the remaining national brands. The mall also hosts various local businesses. Visitors have noted that the mall is somewhat rundown and quiet, with a few incidents, such as a shooting witnessed by one reviewer. The outside children's play area is considered poorly placed, as it disrupts the relaxed atmosphere for visitors seeking massages or quiet time. However, there are positive experiences as well, such as friendly service at Applebee’s, which was praised for its excellent hospitality. Some visitors find the mall to be a refreshing change from more run-down or less maintained malls elsewhere, appreciating its cleanliness and atmosphere. Overall, University Mall offers a basic shopping experience with a mix of stores, some good service, and a few areas needing improvement.
Going down the tubes. Not a very safe place anymore.

Visited Reeds today. It us sad to see empty stores everywhere, but the food court has some life to it still.
