Usually the post office is a stressful place for me, busy, unkind people, etc. I can confidently say Sharon at the Vestavia Post Office made my experience the complete opposite. She was truly incredible. I was trying to ship a dress to China, which unknowingly to me, required customs paperwork and a large fee to ship ($40) one small dress. Sharon was so kind in helping me though the process & even sat through a mini fashion show of me unwrapping the dress to get her opinion on if it was ugly or not 𤣠Needless to say, she convinced me to keep & wear the dress instead of paying a hefty fee to return it. Thanks for helping me step out of my comfort zone! đ

Very frustrated. I had a passport appointment booked at least a month out. I get there for them to tell me the girl that does them had to much to do today and forgot to cancel them.

Do not make an appointment for passport application on the weekend. They will not honor it. Waste of time.

I had a great experience with the package machine. The QR scanner worked great and the package drop off is right next to the machine on the right and the trash can for the label backing is on the left. I had 3 packages going out and I was in and out in less than 10 minutes!

I've just used this location for regular mail and packages and have never had an issue. Staff is very friendly and helpful, but will let you know if you're asking for something they can't do - not everyone is trained for every service, which I think can lead to some people not liking this office. They do usually seem short-staffed, so I just try to go at non-peak times. Still, for regular mail services I'd definitely recommend.

I made a passport appointment and they called one hour later and told me âwe cancelled your appointmentâ
No reason no justification, just an attitude of âtoo badâ
There may have been a legitimate reason, but none was offered when I was called.

unprofessional staff specifically the head clerk. I spent 3 days calling this location to confirm information about a service they said they provided on their website. I drove an hour trying to get fingerprints only to find out that their machine is down ! Then I mention all of the unanswered calls that I made earlier this week only for the MANAGER to say, âwe donât answer the phone because we are checking customers out.â These people are not doing their jobs, and itâs affecting the lives of REAL people. Find workers that take their job seriously. I will not be returning to this location.

Very rude staff. Tried to ask the employee at the front desk a question about a prepaid package label and she kept cutting me off, so I left.

Tucked away in a small spot, parking is a challenge. It has a drive thru area for dropping mail. Take note that traffic is directional, one way in, one way out. Check the times before you go, they do close early. There are two windows that are available so they can get slowed down by transactions taking a while (i.e passport applications etc). Most information is online so read up before visiting and pestering the clerks and holding up the line. Dropping off prepaid packages is easy, but you have to line up if you want a receipt. For passport applications, you have to set up an appointment online and they do have the ability to take your photos there.

Tried calling to see if their fingerprint people were there and no one answered. We're here now and have to wait until they return from lunch. What's the use in having a phone and no one answers. Now we have to wait an hour. There's 2 other offices that do fingerprints,1 doesn't work and the other is way out of the way.

Online days open at 0830. Sign on for days open at 0900. Fix this. I had to sit and wait 20 minutes to mail a package.

We recently had an appointment at the USPS Office in Vestavia, which we had conveniently scheduled online. However, our experience took an unexpected turn when a clerk called us to reschedule our appointment to an earlier time. Understanding the importance of the matter, my wife and I arranged to take time off work to accommodate the new timing as requested.Upon our arrival for the rescheduled appointment, we were surprised to find that the clerk who had initiated the rescheduling was on lunch break and not available to assist us. The other clerk present was unable to help with our needs and informed us that our only option was to reschedule again. While they offered apologies for the inconvenience, the situation resulted in a loss of our time and a lack of resolution to our original purpose for visiting.We hope this feedback highlights the importance of internal communication and scheduling coordination to ensure that such inconveniences can be avoided in the future, ensuring a smoother and more efficient experience for all customers.
