I loved my time at Southern Union. They had a large selection of online courses so I could stay employed while I attended school. I *highly* recommend choosing Carol Howell as your student advisor. She is easy to speak with and she made registering for classes simple!

Had a wonderful afternoon of sports at Southern Union, men and women's basketball ?, along with exciting baseball ⚾️ games. This beautiful Wadley campus is a hidden educational, cultural and athletic treasure in Randolph County Alabama.

Raven in admissions was so much help this morning!! She was so patient \\u0026 helpful over the phone. It blows my mind that Amber in admissions from Opelika SUSCC was so rude and unable to help me with the same 3-4 questions I asked Raven. Thank you so much Raven! You are awesome!

This college is great. With such memorable staff a select few are Mrs. Ruby(cosmetology receptionist), Mr. Hudson(SPH106 Fundamental of oral communication), Mrs. Wright(cosmetology instructor), and last but certianly not least Ms. Madison Bugbee(technical student advisor) these instructors and couches has playedasuch a remarkable role in my life at SUCC and actually for the rest of my life they have given me encouragement and knowledge for a better tomorrow than i was given before i met them. They have went out and beyond for students only to see them give their full potential. If you know them im sure you understand how much they can impact others lives in such a postive way. As a proud SUCC graduate of proud Class 2019 im sure I speak for plenty when i say thank you !!!!

I had a great experience here. I took classes at all three campuses. Southern Union was a good option for me when I finished high school and I didn’t have any trouble transferring credits. Did every single credit transfer? No. But it never does, regardless of the college you transfer too. I had great professors that knew me. The classes were small most of the time. The schedules were flexible. I was able to work 25 hours a week and go full time at night for most of my time there. I know it’s not for everyone, but it was a great fit for me.

My first Quarter at Southern Union in Wadley, Alabama was Fall 1976. This school and it's staff have changed my entire life, no doubt for the better. I have attended many hours at Wadley and Opelika and what wonderful experiences and memories have resulted. Life comes at you faster than you can imagine. Prepare now. Attending Southern Union State Community College got my life off to a great start and it will kick-start YOUR academic life as well!

I'm simply rating a single start because NO ONE ever answers the phone here. I've called 5 different extensions for administration and not a single person is answering. This is so ridiculous when you absolutely need something from the school, especially something as simple as a student number.

I had applied for a teaching position at Southern Union and was required to submit a package of paper documents. When it came time for my interview, they told me what date and time to show up and at what place, but there were no arrangements made. I was teaching a class in another city at the time they wanted me to be there. They would not negotiate a new time. So, they failed to hire anyone for the position and had to re-list it. They sent me a letter, inviting me to re-apply by submitting all the same application material, but this time by entering my information electronically. What happened when interview time came around? Yeah, you guessed it. The did not consult me to arrange a time, but gave me the same ultimatum. Irony of ironies, they wanted me to give a presentation of drugs and drug receptors and I was giving a presentation at a conference on drugs and drug receptors at the very time they wanted me to interview. I guess they filled the position with the first warm body that presented itself at the appointed time, because I got a rejection letter by mail a couple of weeks later. One can only wonder at the quality of instruction if this is their hiring strategy.

The nursing staff is wonderful. I attend the Opelika campus and have had a beautiful experience thus far; I have recommended the school to others who have asked me about the institution. I thank God for giving me direction and the inclination to enroll and attend. 5 stars for me! Like any other college or school that I have attended, YOU, THE STUDENT, must first do your part and the rest will fall into place. Nothing and no one school or instructor is perfect, but the best I've seen thus far. Stay Blessed and to anyone who reads my post, good luck with your studies!!!!!
