About Main Street Wetumpka
This little gem of a town is packed with near shops, good food and amazing history. The downtown area has cool shops, places to eat and drink, and a wonderful art gallery that features mostly art by talented artists. The gallery sits beside a marker about the meteor that struck the area millions of years ago and has one of the best views of the Coosa River. Several movies have been filmed here, including the popular Big Fish house on a hill behind the Grumpy Dog and Hot Fogs housed in a vintage gas station. Signage throughout town indicates where movies were filmed. A Dickens Christmas in downtown brings a beautiful evening, period costumes and cool enough. Local car shows and art shows have fantastic cars and images in the area. The people are nice, friendly and full of smiles. The buildings are gorgeous with character and the town continue to grow and improve while keeping its unique. It is a must see small town for people love history and art.

A Dickens Christmas in downtown Wetumpka was great. It was a beautiful evening. Just cool enough. The shops were open as were the restaurants. Lots of people in period costumes. A tradition I hope they continue.

Very nice arts and entertainment district. Went over for the Halloween candy crawl, nice to seen downtown business involved in the downtown events
