They are pretty much the only gas supplier in Anchorage, but be prepared for hidden price hikes. Every item gets a hefty hazmat fee from pencils to wire wheels. I was charged $9 over the $23 sales tag for 4043 (solid aluminum) rod. A bit shady.

Having a 12$ hazmat charge or itemized charge as they call it for 2 lbs of SS rod is a ripoff and 15% restock fee is BS will never do business with them ever again

Welp, if you need to get gas in Anchorage, you'll probably end up here. I tried going to their website first, to see how much a 5lb CO2 cylinder would be. It said "click for price". I clicked for price. Then it said "create an account". I created an account. Then it said "account still verifying". I guess they really just don't want you to buy stuff? Why are there so many hoops and hurdles to just CHECK THE PRICE of a single product. I went to the website because no one was picking up the phone at Airgas. I eventually got through, they told me a 5lb CO2 cyclinder was ~$32. Which sounded like an insane deal. I got to the store, waited in line, and told them I wanted to buy one. They said "that'll be $152.62". After some brief discussion, we figured out the $32 figure is for a FILL ONLY, not for the cylinder. Is $120.75 a good price for an empty 5lb CO2 cylinder? Not really. I found some on Amazon for $70-$80. Will Amazon ship burly, dangerous hardware like that to Alaska? Hell no. So Airgas pretty much has a monopoly and I had to pay. The people were generally nice though. Some tips: - No CO2 cylinders in the actual store, you pull up out back to get them. But, you order them in the storefront. - They also swap-out 20lb CO2 cylinders - They don't really service 10lb CO2 cylinders - Why am I so obsessed with CO2 cylcinders? For carbonating homebrew beer, of course! - Avoid their website at all costs, makes the DMV look like Hawaii
