I don’t know how this place is still in business, they get away with malpractice!I would not recommend anyone to bring their beloved pet here. I brought my toy mini schnauzer here to get a spay and dental surgery done, she came home with what looked like an injured nose. We took her back in and I was told by Dr. Grohs that it was his technician who had the heating pad on too hot. It took 3 weeks for her nose to scab and fall off, eventually the whole nasal planum came off. She also had burns on her body.I also got a second opinion about my dog and her burned nose, I was told that there was no way to prevent her nose from falling off because of how it was burned.Do not bring your pet here!

My pointer was having a terrible time with kidney stones, Dr Ken did a very technical emergency surgery and fixed the problem. He took more time talking to me and showing me the problem than if I was at my family doctor!Thanks for your efforts!

By far the best, most caring, considerate, and understanding staff. Everything from cost to care makes this so far and above any vet service in Anchorage. Dr Julie and the staff are simply amazing!

they BURNED dogs nose OFF , completely, look at the photos. AWFUL and should be shut down. Not entirely sure why it hasn't been shut down yet ?

Took my dog in to get a spay surgery, she came out deformed with no nose. The vet tech burned my dog's nose off and burned her body. I wouldn't recommend anyone to bring their pet here unless you want to risk them being hurt or worse.

Very disappointed in their service. I’ve been going here for awhile now and haven’t had a problem until recently. Brought my dog in for a rash on her stomach. We weren’t there for that long. She was seen by the vet for not even five minutes just to tell me they don’t know what it is and to go buy stuff at the store for it. Not to mention the attitude the lady gave us , then when we checked out the total was over $100!! I still can’t wrap my head around that. $100 for them to look under her stomach and say they don’t know what it is.

I tried to make an appointment for my little dog to get seen for an eye growth and they refused to help me! The lady on the phone was rude and very upsetting. She did not explain why they couldn't help my dog other than they hadn't seen him in a long time. Horrible customer service, will never go back!

Called to see if they are taking new clients and the lady who picked up phone (said her name is mj) did not even want to hear our explanation about why we need our dog to see a vet. Her tone was rude the way she talk was rude didn’t even let me finish a sentence before dismissing us saying “you will not beable to see a vet here” why? We never been there before and you don’t know what’s going on with our dog since you wouldn’t let me explain. But thank you for saving me the time of not going to such a place with rude customer service. Kudos to you Mj

This vet by far is the best we have been to and we’ve been to a lot over the years. Doctor Joe is a very experienced vet and it shows. Pros are they can usually work you in the schedule and they don’t give responsible breeders a hard time like some other vets. Well worth the drive to chugiak for our vet care needs!

Our pet was seen for a surgical procedure 3/26. She has been persistently vomiting for 6 days now. I have called in and spoke to the tech on Thursday describing the issue and my concern. I rules out it was the meds as they had stopped by two days at that point and I fasted her and out her on a bland diet in the interim. I was assured someone would call me. Nothing . 24 hours later I call again. I was told I would hear back within an hour and a half. Again nothing. The day of surgery we had the same issue with no updates and we called mid afternoon to check up on her and when she puked be available for pick up and had to call three times this day. Finally,,, one hour before they closed and third call in I had to get firm about her released the fact we have heard nothing and we have a half hour drive to get to her for pick up. Although I admire and like the doc. I have to say this is lacking care or concern for patients and highly unprofessional for no one to return calls. Why is a vomiting animal not a concern for a vet post surgery? It should be.. yet I am out in a position to seek help else where and try and help my ill pet from experience and the internet. This had ruined my opinion of this facility. And made me question their advice and trustworthiness with my pet.
