We have adopted two cats through this organization. They are a HUGE array of personalities and needs depending on the potential adopters needs and wants. They have people from young yearling cats to the old ones. They are all well taken care of. Their medical and grooming needs are well taken care of and when you visit the litter boxes are clean and the floors mopped. I would highly recommend this organization to any potential owners. They are VERY helpful to anyone new to cats, and even to more experienced people looking to add another cat to the family. The volunteers and everyone there truly want to find a perfect cat for you and are super helpful to work with. Also a lot of the cats just need attention so if you ever have an evening free, they have open visiting hours and you can just go spend time with some really cute floofs! I really can’t say enough good about this place.

It's nice getting to see the cats in a comfortable environment of their own. This allows you to see their personality a little better. It's a little hard to tell which cats might not be friendly but they do try to warn you and you can also ask someone beforehand. It is a nice set up for the cats though!

I've worked at the vet office where this humane society takes their cats. The volunteers do an amazing job keeping an eye on each cat's health, and they give the cats incredible love while in residence! I've adopted two fur babies from Alaska Humane Society, and highly recommend this agency.

I am looking to adopt in the near future. I hope to visit them soon. Please remember adopting an animal means you are family. You may have trying times but many animals in shelters didn't have an easy time before they got there.I've been taking my time to make a educated choice and make sure I can offer an animal a great life.

This place is completely volunteer run and they are so dedicated to the cats. It is a two story warehouse full of cats and smells like you would imagine a warehouse full of cats to smell. They help out the community, are honest about the disposition and health of their cats, and are very kind people. We adopted the sweetest cat I have ever met a couple months ago. She is 15 years old and they cared for her for three years before we got her. Like I said, so dedicated to these kitties. Ask to see their cats with medical needs if you’re up for a cat like that. They’re some of my favorites there. Thanks for all you do!

Arlene and the Humane Society are an awesome resource for cats that are lost, found or in trouble!I love that the cats Brought here will live out their natural life at this facility and be loved and cared for if not adopted and are never at risk of being euthanized because they haven't been rehomed..THEY DO A GREAT SERVICE!??

It is amazing there all the people that work there are volunteers and are really good people that clearly care about the cats. the cats are super nice some don't get along with others either because they are new to the place or have trauma from their previous owner. The place has a bunch of ramps and different places for the cats to chill out and posts to scratch.

Awesome place to adopt a cat. They have so many lovely cats, some with special needs. Most cats are super friendly, they roam free in the two story building and are well taken care of. Place does need a little TLC, but I guess they do what they can with the donations they are given.

Please support the Alaska Humane Society. The tireless volunteers go above and beyond to help the magnificent creatures *no matter what the condition and/or disposition* of the cats!!! Extraordinary! Please donate $$$, needed supplies, your time, etc.!So grateful to now provide forever home for three kitties from here including one they cared and loved in the shelter for five years! The buddies of that cat were there for over a year! That's how dedicated is this organization! ??⬛??⬛????

We adopted the best cat from the Humane Society. He's been a great addition to our family. They treat the cats with great respect and the volunteers were great to work with when we visited.
