I’ve been shopping at The Alaska Mint for the past 6 years, since my daughter moved to AK. I always try to stop in when I’m in town. I’ve purchased several rings, earrings and a very special pendant from them and have always had top notch service. Their knowledge and willingness to help you find the perfect item is fantastic. I recently had a chain break, resulting in my 5 year old sentimental pendant being lost. I stopped in to see if they had a replacement. Chris contacted one of his jewelers to see he recognized the description of the item. Within 20 minutes, the jeweler confirmed he was the one who made the original pendant and had actually had made 3 at that time. He still had the last one and it was available. I was so thankful to be able to replace my original pendant with the identical match. Wonderful customer service above and beyond!!

Wow! Chris was amazing! So knowledgeable. We bought coins, a Tyrannosaurus Rex shaped nugget necklace, and we talked for an hour about process. I consider him a new friend. Highly recommend!!

I came here looking for a golden nugget pendant, and left incredibly happy with the price point and decision i ended up making.
Christopher welcomed us at the door and right away was extremely helpful without making me feel the pressure like i had to purchase something. We ended up finding the perfect nugget, and i wasn’t loving any of the chains they had on display and he actually went and found one in the back that i absolutely had to have. This was just overall a nice experience and i will be back for more jewelry! Thanks again Christopher!!!!

My recent visit to The Alaska Mint on the corner of 4th & E was amazing. The Gentleman that assisted my father & I was Christopher. His customer service & friendly manner provided a warm and welcome atmosphere for the store, which added to the overall character I know the store to present. My time there was well spent, and I believe that my interaction could not have been better. I really recommend stopping by once a month to check for new items, or if there’s someone deserving of a unique, valuable, & Most important, a heartfelt gift.

We were there and service is not great. I want to look something in the case and they make me wait while there is no customer inside either. My husband talk to the lady owner about wanted to see the gold nuggets and she just left him and make a phone calls. I understand if the phone call is urgent but she could ask one of her staff to help us. Finally Gunner come and help us, we end up with Damascus ulu knife with walrus bone handle and jade ring. hopefully next time we there service will be better.

We shopped at the Alaska Mint on Saturday the 27th of July. Kim and Chris helped us. We ended up buying a necklace for me and a ring for my husband. They were both so sweet to us. It was an enjoyable time. Thank you for helping us buy some beautiful piece. I got so many compliments on my necklace on ship. My hubby’s ring came in less than a week. Go there if you are ever in Anchorage. I hope to go back some day.

What an interesting and fun place to visit. Gunnar was of great help and great to talk to. They mint their own coins and medals in copper, brass, aluminum and silver on site. A walk back in time to see some of their estate items. Or just to pass time and learn more about the area. You should stop by as this is an Anchorage original, not to be missed. I’ll be back on my next stay and thanks again for the warm welcome and excellent service.
