This is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in in my 63 years of life. It was hot in the room so I open the window and in blew a legion of dead flies and dust into the room, and certainly mold, and the street noise was unbearable. The hotel has a door that slammed all night long. I got no sleep. When I called the front desk they said I had to go to the front desk in the morning. When I complained in the morning to the front desk, he told me I had to leave the hotel. Gladly, I did this, but the front desk clerk was extremely rude, obnoxious, and a total a hole.

The only good thing is location (close to train station)The staff of front desk is very errogant and rude!!! The front desk is ot available all day. When we would like to check out, we can't find the guy in charge. The heater doesn't work very well. Freezing cold at night.

Stayed during the Iditarod. Seemed like a good idea at the time. Will not make that mistake again. The employees were great with the exception of the Manager. He isnt a people person and talks down to people. Pick another hotel. The manager will charge your credit card improperly and then try to double charge you. Be wary.

Stayed here 2 weeks ago. Hotel isn't terrible, but the Manager is very rude and condescending and doesn't care about keeping customers happy. Beware of the noisy trains behind the hotel and remember its a 2 star hotel!! Good luck, I would pick somewhere else to stay.

We have stayed here twice for the Iditarod. It is less expensive than most hotels in the area and only a two block walk to the Iditarod Ceremonial Start and two and a half blocks to Salmonberry Tours if you take their Iditarod restart tour, and five blocks to the mushers banquet. With free parking, it is easy to get to other Anchorage locations including the local Carrs store (buying your own food that you can cook in your suites also helps the budget). Furrondy occurs during the Iditarod, and you are across the street from the Carnival. The train station is just down the hill. The noise from either did not bother us at all. Rooms were clean and the suites spacious with a separate bedroom so I could let my wife sleep if I was up. This is the second time we have stayed here and plan to do it again the next time we come for the Iditarod. Just book early because it fills up quickly for that time period.

Top notch++++ would definitely stay again! Extremely polite staff, super clean, very cozy atmosphere. The most comfortable bed, pillows, and sheets we’ve ever had. If I could’ve purchased I would’ve! Couldn’t been better!

My father and I traveled from San Diego to celebrate for my birthday and we stayed in a cute, well equipped with amenities kitchenette hotel. My father really liked the “homie” feel of it. It is very conveniently located to all spots in downtown. And more significantly a 3min walk from the railroad depot which is what we wanted to be close to as we needed to be there at 5am. Also, You will hear the first train at 645am. FYI. We did not have a problem with that.Everything is walkable honestly and I personally always prefer to stay in a comfortable kitchenette over a hotel Hilton. The building is old, yes, but cozy overall. My dad and I enjoyed our stay and would probably stay here again if we decide to return!

While the suite I was in was very comfortable, I completely forgot about the train tracks right behind the hotel. The People Mover is a great way to get throughout Anchorage for only $5 for unlimited rides a day. Since I was in a suite, I did benefit from a microwave, fridge and dishes I could use. I would highly recommend staying here if you will be there for an extended period of time and want to cook in your room.

The hotel was clean but lacked modern amenities like air conditioning and the wifi must have been down while we were there. Pretty dated but well maintained. Like other reviewers mentioned, the windows do open but nearby trains, planes and automobiles make for a restless sleep if you are a light sleeper.

Good price for a suite, and the location was good. We had everything we needed, and the staffperson who checked us in was very nice. Their bath towels are excellent--fluffy and soft. The bed was very comfortable as well. Parking was not immediately obvious, and they are particularly strict about check-in time (although they will keep your bags if you arrive early)--when we arrived early, the staffperson who told us to come back at 4P was a little surly.

The room was clean and well kept. The front desk staff provided excellent serv ice. Ask for George he is friendly and knows the area to help make your trip special. The front desk staff provided excellent service. Highly recommend. I would stay at this hotel again.

Nice, spacious room, but absolutely no space near the bathroom sink. No counter space, just a sink. The parking was around the corner. Right next to the train station, which we didn't mind, but if you don't want to hear trains, don't stay here. Would probably not stay here again because of the lack of a counter in the bathroom. It was inconvenient to not have all the toiletries when and where you needed them.

I could have given this place a 5 out of 5 because of its location, kitchen and size. I only gave it a 4 because there's no AC and one of the windows didn't open. It was rather warm when we checked in it 4 pm. It is an old hotel but our room felt like an apartment. We are old folks who like to walk. We spent one afternoon walking downtown Anchorage.

Horrible cancellation policy. Flight from Kodiak was canceled and the manager would not budge from their 48 hour cancellation policy. When I asked to speak with someone else, he said he was it and he wrote the cancellation policy. Pretty messed up considering flights from Kodiak are often delayed. After I wrote a 1 star review on Google, he then waived all fees and proceeded to slander me in a comment on the review. I will never consider staying at this place again.

Our stay was totally fine. Nothing spectacular nor terrible. Location is great for walking to bars and restaurants and shops. Room was clean but outdated. The train station is directly behind the hotel and we left our window cracked for sleeping after getting in late from the airport. We were startled awake late in the night by train whistles seemingly in our room. We got a chuckle out of it but if you're looking for something quieter...this is not it. Housekeeping was strange at best. Beds were made, coffee replenished, but bar soap was actually removed and empty Kleenex box never replaced. Likely that it is a short staffing issue like everywhere else. Not a big deal but the place does give off a sense of neglect. I will try a different hotel for my next visit.
