Carrs can you please update your closing hours? There have been numerous occasions I have had to stop by late at night and there is a employee who closes the store before midnight, which you have listed as your closing time. I was under the impression if the store has a closing hour listed as 12:00 AM then this employee should not be locking the doors at 11:40, 11:45, or whatever other times I have been turned away. On one occasion she very rudely told me I had to stop shopping and go to the checkout right then because the store was closed, yet the time was only 11:42. Perhaps you can change your listed closing time to "whenever this certain employee feels like" because that has been my experience several times.

When ever I need something they got it! Water, coffee, milk,eggs or razors. Even have stuff you wouldn't think they carry!

Mostly friendly staff. Good prices and discount on everyday items. What more can I say?Update: High prices just like everywhere else. Deals can be harder to find. They charge 10¢ per paper bag.

The girls in this bakery performed an amazing feat for me, of which I am so grateful. I live in Washington State and I have a son who recently moved to Girdwood, Alaska, for his job. I called all over Girdwood trying to find a store that sold birthday cakes so I could order one for his birthday. With no luck I placed a call to Crow Creek Mercantile in Girdwood as my last hope. The manager of that store (Brian) told me that once a week he goes to the Carrs Store on Huffman Road in Anchorage to pick up goodies from their bakery for his store. He suggested I call them and if they can do the cake he would pick it up on his weekly run and deliver it to my son. When I called Carrs Store I spoke with Twin in the bakery and explained my dilemma. She asked what type of cake I wanted and said she would have it ready and would arrange with Brian to take it with him when he came in on his weekly run. The cake was absolutely beautiful and they were able to frost it with dairy-free frosting (my son is allergic to dairy products). My son was totally surprised and very grateful. Thank you all for helping me out with this quest— it meant a lot to me and I really appreciated all your effort

First I would like to say that the store was clean and we found everything that we came to buy. When we took our cart to the check stand we met Sue. She was the cashier at the register tonight. I must say she was by far the rudest cashier that I have ever delt with at this store. She first didn’t acknowledge us when we said hello but gave us a dirty look. As I was loading my groceries on the conveyer belt Sue was shaking her head. I’m not sure if it was because she had a bad day or if she actually had some kind of problem with my wife and I. As she was bagging the groceries my wife asked her about the 12 packs of sodas and if we had the correct amount for their sale. Sue said “Just wait” and continued to bag the groceries. Now that there was a line, she told us that we needed another 12 pack to get the discount. So we had to make everyone wait while we got another 12 pack. Then it didn’t give us the discount. Sue says well you got the wrong kind. I told her to just take all of the soda off of our bill since there were people behind us in line. She made us feel very uncomfortable and she was completely rude. Today is Nov 10th and we were at the store around 8 pm incase their management would like to know how their checker Sue treats her customers.

Clean store, friendly staff, good selection to choose from, Ridiculously high high prices!, plenty of parking, parking for handicap, open late, convenient.

mercy b gave me the worst experience I've ever had at carrs. when she was ringing up my items she gave me so much attitude when I was kind and smiled the whole time. this isn't the first time she's done this. it seems like everttime. I go into there and it seems like she has attitude.
