I had the most incredible stay at Copper Whale Inn. It is super cute, well run, and feels like you’re staying in a house vs a sterile chain hotel. The breakfast every morning is fresh and DELICIOUS. And they have a cute hot cocoa bar at the front. You can tell the owners care deeply about this spot - if you’re looking for a great place to stay in Anchorage, look no further. This place sets the bar high for any other spots I visit the rest of this year!

The good: location is great. Can't beat it. And it is a lovely place. Not generic cookie cutter box hotel style. Cozy and comfortable and clean. It was decorated for Christmas and my kid just loved it (and the hot cocoa bar). Great selection for a self-serve breakfast. And service was great. We had a minor issue upon arrival and we were given a few options until it could be corrected the next morning. We didn't really see anyone while we were there but I felt like I could have texted the manager with any type of issue or request and gotten a quick and accomodating response. The less good: Rooms are on the small side but comfortable and really cute. It was a bit of a pain. The door to the room and the sink were right next to the bed so it was impossible not to.wake my family when I got up early. So I just went to the main house for coffee. The not good: parking. Not at all the hotel's fault but should be noted. on street parking exists but in winter you can't park there overnight. There's a parking lot very nearby across the road but it was quite pricey.Luckily you can walk from the hotel to everything downtown.

I stayed here for 4 nights on a business trip so I didn't get the time to properly enjoy the location but I really enjoyed my stay! The general manager of the Inn, Lorene, was super friendly and helpful. She personally reaches out to make sure your stay is going great. The room was clean, nicely decorated, and the bed was comfy. My only regret was missing that the Copper Whale has no parking at all (which is clearly noted on their website, I just did not catch that while booking 100% my fault), so I had to park in the pay-to-park lot across the street for an extortionate rate. Watch out for that if you're in a rental.

Copper Whale is fantastic and one of the nicest b and b’s in Alaska! Beautiful views of the water, very comfy and cozy rooms, and exceptional staff. Staff goes above and beyond to make sure that you have an incredible stay! Copper Whale will definitely be my first choice for any future trips to Anchorage!

This is a lovely, Alaskan-owned, boutique hotel. The manager will personally text you to make sure you arrived safe if you check in late. I mean, what hotel does that these days? ❤️ Room is clean and so comfy. I loved the decor, the view, and breakfast was great. Bikes are available for rent on site to enjoy a ride on the coastal trail that's right here. And you're walking distance to the Anchorage Museum and dining options.Safety: Safe building, requires a code to get in at any time of the day or night

This is a hidden gem, nestled on a street corner just steps from what I would call tilde flats. It is also next door to Simon & Seafort's Saloon & Grill, which I would also recommend. We stayed in the Bootlegger room. The room was showing some age, but was clean and the bed was SO comfortable; even my husband liked it! Lorene, the manager, couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating. The continental breakfast had a lot to offer, from different types (even GF) breads, cereals, fruit, boiled eggs, salmon lox and cream cheese for the bagels, and, of course, coffee and a selection of teas. And, as you can see from the photo, they are welcoming to everyone.

Lovely place, lovely owner, very quiet and cosy! Loved the breakast and the tea selection. Lorene made sure I had all the instructions before arriving. The bed was super confortable and the location is just great. I highy recommend! All my friends staying in large hotel nearby were quite jealous of me staying at the Copper Whale. Would go back anytime!

Let’s start with this is one of the best stays I have had, Lorene was wonderful and made my stay very wonderful. As a woman traveling alone she as well as the rest of the staff made me feel so at home. The place may be on the small side with very few rooms but each one is so cute with how they are decorated in themes. There is also a living/dining area in the main area that is also super cozy. The lady who does the breakfast bar does an amazing job as well and for a continental breakfast it is wonderful. If you are ever in the area and need a place to stay I 100% recommend The Copper Whale Inn. Also with some rooms there is a shared bath but it was wonderful so for those few rooms don’t let it scare you away. Very close to the rooms and not connecting the rooms together so it was awesome!!!

Really nice place to stay for solo travelers, couples or small family. Rather than taking a hotel room, this was better, more personal option for me, conveniently located close to everything one needs to get to, downtown.

Great place to stay in Anchorage! The location was very central without being noisy, the room was very comfortable, and there’s a good selection of options for breakfast each morning.
