I've used Habitat and donated over the last 20+ years. I noticed changes in pricing increasing, about 2 years ago, often to prices as much as I could just go to retail and purchase. I went to one in NC and found it to be reasonable. This one here in Anchorage I feel is taking less in and selling way too high! I used to stop in and spend 300 to 500 a month for projects I worked! Now I rarely spend 10 to 20 in thr last 2 years. My projects haven't slowed down, I just find deals elsewhere since this management wants to get rich off donated items. I quit donating as well as I feel that what I donate could go to the community through other non profit organizations.

My friend and I entered the store about 10 minutes before closing ( I know that is pushing it a bit close however we are respectful for their time and would not overstay our visit.)We were greeted by an older man and he stated that the store closed in 3 minutes(at this time it was 5:50 and it says the store is open until 6 so we were confused but none the less said okay and continued to go back to the furniture section) Said older gentleman then goes to say “we are closing in 3 minutes “ again and motions towards the door. I then looked at my friend confused and asked the man” so we can’t look around?” He then goes to tell me that by the time we walk back there that it will be closed. I ask him the same question again and he says the same thing so I stated “ ok, so we can’t look around. Have a good day sir “ and we start walking towards the exit. He then says” DONT put words in my mouth” and I stated that is what he was implying. NOT TO MENTION we had seen about 2-3 customers that came in around the same time as us go to the back. I will NEVER use this company again due to the fact we believed he acted this way towards us because we are people of color. Would rate it a ZERO and will be informing everyone I know about this POOR experience and POOR customer service.

Went to Restore, found an absolutely gorgeous cabinet that was behind a banner, had a price sticker on it for $200. I looked around the store for an employee and found one about 10 minutes later, then asked if I could buy that cabinet and he told me no. I asked why and he said because the store was going to use it for display. I then asked why there's a price sticker on it and he said it needed to be removed but he could not sell it to me. I was really disappointed because I really thought it would be the perfect addition to my home and I am very much hoping he was not lying to try to reserve it for a friend. Will not be returning in the future.

Holy high prices ! Way out of bound. I know they have overhead and all but... Worse than goodwill. If im gonna pay 80 to 95% retail ill pay the extra for new.

What is going on with the prices in here? Things are donated, and they’re charging almost as much as the retail stores are charging when you buy stuff brand new! Paint gallons for $20? An old used recliner for $450? A rug for $600? Ancient power tools for $25+? Retail prices on busted windows and doors? It makes no sense. I understand they need to make a profit to help people, but most Habitat stores don’t try to rob their customers like this one does. Whoever is pricing needs to have a reality check. There’s no point going in there if Lowe’s has brand new product la for the same prices that Habitat is charging for used! Insane!

I stand by my previous assessment. Every since HfH moved to this location, this place is a bunch of disorganized, overpriced garbage. Whoever does their pricing really doesn't know how to price, or take quality or condition into account. Don't waste your time coming here.

Love this place. Always full of exciting and quirky finds. Surprisingly wide variety of vintage as well as modern merchandise which I love. I never walk away empty handed. Some of the best bargain shopping around and the staff are very courteous and helpful.

Allie got tested for Covid-19. A long time employee, always the most helpful person there. I believe she may be responsible for how organized the store is at the last location and this one. She had to self quarantine for the test and was fired for "tardiness"They were lucky to have her.I won't be back.
