We rented a Standard 2/4 Door(D) VW Jetta or similar but the lady gave us a mini car that we couldn't even have enough space to put our luggages. And there were so many bigger cars available. Not recommended.

Surprisingly poor customer service experience with Brett, who was unnecessarily aggressive and initially refused to tell me his name. I have rented from this location many times in the past and had positive interactions. Brett has a lot of room for improvement.Arika

WARNING Avoid if possible!!! Very poor customer service! I rented for a week and was given a vehicle that no one looked at before being given to me, a persons notebook of items where in there (birth certificate, job paper work etc.) the car had Warning lights on and I took it back to get a different vehicle. Where customer service was RUDE they double charged the original $25 return fee BECAUSE OF THEIR MISTAKE!!!! And rudely asked didn’t you look at the vehicle before getting it… umm the lady said she unlocked it and I alone went to inspect the outside of vehicle, the inside was locked as I noted on the form!!! Don’t USE them! I even called to talk to manager and left a message NO CALL BACK

I’ve rented from Hertz in Anchorage several times and have been very happy with the car and overall experience. The front counter people were very friendly and I was able to rent a nice new SUV for a family vacation. They were very helpful with explaining vehicle options and upgrades. I’d rent from them again and recommend them.

PLEASE READ BEFORE GOING THROUGH HERTZ! Hertz Rental Car is an unprofessional business altogether for several reasons. When my car was totaled by another driver, their insurance company covered the rental car cost for 18 days. My new car wasn't ready until the following Monday. I called to renew my rental yet an employee said that the insurance company was covering it for 20 day and there was nothing to worry about. This was lie. I was charged for three days instead of two making the total 227 dollars. Not only was I over charged yet their incompetent tendencies continued yo shine. On Monday the 28th, I returned my rental car and George the very rude, condescending, manager who easily gets confused and doesn’t listen said that my funds were released that following day. This Monday I checked my bank account and there wasn’t a statement clarifying that the funds had been released. I called Hertz and was immediately transferred George

Dont go through this company. The front desk man claimed he knew what he was doing with my insurance policy, they said they would put a $554 hold on my account and never did. I asked for a small car with AWD and I got a 2020 Nissan Pathfinder that was very big. After 5 days, I returned my car they took $400.86 from my account and I had to call my state farm insurance guy and have him call the rental place and the front desk guy George said it was a clerical error yet he was the only guy that out in my info for the rental car. Fast forward to this past wednesday a day after I returned the car, I was told by my insurance that they had overcharged my account and owed me a refund of $320 because of that error. If I hadn't caught this I feel like the rental car place would have let it slide. It's been 3 days and I still haven't gotten a refund. They do NOT know what they are doing at that company, the front desk guy is mentally incompetent and you'll have no accountability taken for whatever happens to your experience. Just go through enterprise or another rental car place.

A good friend of ours who lives in rural Alaska rented here recently because his wife had been medavaced to Anchorage and was hospitalized for over a month. She passed away last week. He was finally able to fly back to his homestead today but had 2 more weeks left on his rental. Hertz/Thrifty refused to refund him a dime. I'm absolutely sickening by their greed and coldness.
