“This place is cool. Their attendants are always happy to help you find the perfect bottle for any occasion. They also have a wide variety of Alaskan made drinks on offer. They are not the cheapest place in town, but they have the best customer service I’ve seen at any bottle shop.”

“There selection is top notch and beer is always ice cold. And there service with a smile will brighten anyone's day. They're all neighborhood! Only place in town that carries 32oz Medelo.”
“Nice place and friendly staff. Very wide selection of wine specifically, subtle selection for import beer. Average selection for spirits but still quite nice. One high point for me is that they have a wider selection of mead than I expected, I'll definitely be coming back for that.”
“The only place in Anchorage (that I know of) that offers you the option to buy a single beer from a pack to create a diverse tasting package when you get home.
They also offer a broader variety of hard to find local and international items as well as items less available elsewhere(mead/craft cider).
Their offerings in main categories (whiskey/rum/vodka) are pretty narrow, but you will find things that you cannot find in other area liquor stores. In my personal experience, they are also able to get ahold of allocated whiskeys if you put your name on the list for a specific one.”

“They had the simply spiked lemonade I was looking for. So I am very happy. Everyone else is out. Hopefully the distributors are smart enough to bring the Simply Spiked Lemonade back and the Bevy Long drinks. The one Sonic seltzer I tried was very boring and plain. Definitely needs more flavor, maybe they should go with a lemonade or tea because the seltzer is a total disaster.”

“It's a stand-alone beer and liquor store. Alaska has some bass-ackward laws about the sale of alcohol. The selection of drinks was mostly abundant. Service was a bit slow, but when you're one of the only gigs in town, you can run your business any way you want and still survive.”

“Great management and ownership has always been kind to me for years, however though, taller looking worker who looked like he was stocking tonight told me after I paid for a $28 bottle I’m not supposed to be in the hard liquor aisle. I’ve always been a paying customer there, maybe he should revisit his customer service skills”

Their prices are in line with everyone else's in town now, which means it's worth it for me to drive across town to Costco for the cost savings they offer. “Value Liquor is locally owned with a few locations. This review is for their Jewel Lake location. Employees are always welcoming and helpful. I'm mostly telling my spouse (from the car or at home)...."get me something cool!" But when I'm finally able to peruse alone, its an experience. They have all kinds of wine, liquor, and brew for affordable prices. I can take my time here and I appreciate that. The only aspect they're missing here is a walk-in cold cooler accessible to customers. Despite this, we are always able to find exactly what we need.”

“If you are looking for an awesome sauce store, then this store is great for finding some great food and good snacks. Even some cat food and dog food. Of course, they have plastic plates and cups. I also enjoy the variety of alcohol that they and my favorite High Gravity Lager called Stack. Need tobacco and papers? They got plenty of that. This store provides excellent service and excellent parking. Next to a car wash, in case you want to wash your vehicle.”

“I'm nearly a regular here. Their W. Dimond Blvd location (next door to Walgreens) is the most convenient. I appreciate how "on trend" Brown Jug is as a brand. If I see a cool new beer, wine, or spirit on a commercial, I can usually guarantee Brown Jug carries it or will. I always find exactly what I'm looking for when I stop here. The employees go above and beyond here. Very friendly and welcoming. I've forgotten my DL here once and the cashier ran it out to me before I could drive away. Highly recommend this Brown Jug location.”

The store is as clean as it can be stocked well have a good selection just don't ask to use the bathroom it's either it's occupied with somebody that doesn't want to let you in for nefarious reasons, or somebody has been in there already and you don't want to follow them in.”

“I was looking for a bottle shop to visit in Anchorage and this appeared at the top of the list. The shop is amazing with so much selection and hard to find bottles at great prices. The scotch selection felt like I was in Scotland and the beer selection felt very well curated. Plenty of top shelf bourbon, rye and world whiskey as well.
I chatted with Long for a while and he was a wealth of whiskey knowledge and even shared a few pours. Incredibly generous and personable, it was a blast to nerd out about different distilleries. I was able to purchase a bottle that I simply cannot find on the East Coast.
Probably the best bottle shop experience I've ever had. Cannot recommend this place enough, they do it right!”
