I LOVE this park. It's tucked away in a quiet neighborhood and has something to offer everyone. It also (I almost hate to tell this secret) has two of the nicest outdoor tennis courts in town. I've been playing tennis here for years and they were always pretty quiet but with the pandemic this summer they were being used all the time. A great space to spend some time visiting with friends and getting some fresh air. There are baseball fields down the hill and a great bike path!

If you enjoy the simple things, then you'll love this park. It provides a calm, quiet environment where you can take a nice stroll or go bike riding and where kids of all ages can swing on the swing set. This is my second time here this week, and hope to be back again soon.

I was eager to come down here to spend the afternoon studying as well as getting some fresh air since the sun and blue sky finally came out for the first time in three weeks. Lyn Ary Park is located in a quiet neighborhood off of Northern Lights Blvd. and Turnagain Pkwy. not far from the Rustic Goat. This is quite possibly the cleanest park I've been to in Anchorage. The park was full of families and their kids in the playground as well as groups of people playing Frisbee or soccer in the open fields. The large expanse of green grass opens up to a scenic view of Mt. Susitna (the Sleeping Lady) and Fire Island from the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail. I did some studying on one of the picnic tables spread out in the middle of the grassy field with a cool, relaxing breeze blowing and birds everywhere. This definitely was a more enjoyable way to spend the afternoon to get some stuff done instead of sitting in a noisy coffee shop. After finishing up some assignments, I decided to do a little exploring around the area. Just behind the grassy fields was a baseball park and a small flower garden bordering along the Coastal Trail. I made sure to put my camera to good use with the sunshine out. However, the best part about this park was walking along a beach (yes, an actual beach here in Anchorage)! There were people walking along the fine sand playing fetch with their dogs along with a fantastic view of the Fire Island port and downtown Anchorage from a distance. I took some great panoramic shots with my digital camera as I walked along the coast. This is definitely a hidden gem that most people probably aren't aware of with the exception of the residents in the surrounding neighborhood. After spending a sunny afternoon here, this has become one of my favorite parks to enjoy the weather along with the Delaney Park Strip and Taku Lake.

A friend was hanging out "on the beach" to watch the sunset. When I texted: "Where". I heard back: "Lyn Ary" Huh? Is this a Game of Thrones-themed beach hangout? Am I supposed to dress as Lynn Ary? What are you talking about? Turns out it's a park. This park. And it turns out other folks must also be confused, as this park wasn't listed on Yelp. (UNTIL RIGHT THIS SECOND) Anyway, I didn't explore the park extensively, but I can say that it's a great place to play in the sand and watch the sun go down. It's an amazing place for that. It's also close to the Rustic Goat if you want drinks/food before/after (ok, days are getting long, it's mostly going to be "before" from here on out). Their website says they have a climbing wall (!), but I didn't poke around enough to see one. This place is going to become a regular part of my summer.
