Pork belly was absolutely amazing. This place is kind of like a hidden gem. I wouldn't be surprised if this place ends up being a place thats always packed. The food is just that good. talk about somebody who cares about flavor.

Tried pork belly for the first time yesterday and was not disappointed. I also highly recommend the Cuttlefish chips! Wow, worth every penny!

Mixed feelings... glad that new store opened up on 36th . They're clean efficient and very friendly. I'm used to the high prices in anchorage . Today I ordered 100 pork egg rolls, they were made fresh and were ready on time. The egg rolls are $1 each , doesn't matter if you order 200, they are still $1 a piece. So I have eaten these many times but never ordered more than 20. Todays order was for a birthday party. Why was there literally ZERO pork in them?!! It was all lumpia wrapper and rice noodles. I can't tell u how disappointing that was , to charge that much an then to get shortchanged... NEVER EVER ordering like that with them again.

Happy AAPI month! This International Market is located in the middle of a strip mall on 36th Ave. Already having two locations in East Anchorage, this location is their third (and most convenient). Walking in, the space is clean and organized. You are greeted by rows of international snacks, fresh produce, and speciality bulk items. Their employees are also welcoming and helpful. Towards the back, is a large hot foods area with a large menu. This is Mekong's money maker. The owners are of Asian descent but they have mastered the ins and outs of South Pacific Islander foods, to include the most efficient shipping carriers and being nearly multi-lingual. You could ask for something in your native tongue and most of the time they can pick-up on what you're asking for. As Samoans, (largest population of South Pacific Islanders in Alaska), we come to Mekong's when we want to eat our cultural foods but don't want to cook it ourselves. We also come to Mekong's for most bulk/catering orders. FYI Mekong's also sells a limited amount of Asian foods in their hot food section. Mekong saw a need, met it, and has continued to do so very successfully. I recommend checking them out if you're in the area...or just enjoy Polynesian food.
