Sportsman's Warehouse in Anchorage is a great outdoor store open since 2004, located near prime hunting and fishing areas. It provides everything needed for hunting moose, caribou, and bear, and all the tackle for fishing pike, salmon, and trout. The store also carries supplies for hiking, kayaking, camping, and disc golf. Its shop services are extensive, including spooling reels, mounting and boresighting rifle scopes, cleaning guns, cutting arrows, and tuning bows in its archery lane. National Gunsmithing services are now available. The people are always really nice and good to talk to, providing great customer service. The staff is helpful, patient, knowledgeable, and very good at teaching customers. The archery section, in particular, receives high praise for helping customers weigh their options and for its excellent setup and tuning service. While the store is awesome, customers note that purchasing ammunition requires waiting in line as it is all behind the counter. On occasion, a product may not meet expectations, but the store handles refunds satisfactorily. The store also accommodates online orders for quick pickup.
