Cabins were cute..bar was good had appitizers and drinks. They were out of both items for dinner we wanted. Would not refund our money for 2nd night, said that he was unauthorized to do it. We also booked a fishing trip through them , not realizing it was with a different company. We paid for everything including 2 fishing license (only recieved one found out later when getting on lake to fish) overall just wish they would of refunded the night stay we couldnt stay and the amount fishing license charged and did not get . Had to pay again at the fishing charter they booked for us . Seems they were done for the season. We did enquire on 2 separate occasions regarding this both no one was authorized!!!

Service was friendly and prompt, but the real gems here are the smoked salmon chowder and salmon sandwich. So fresh and tasty! The vibe is chill and laid back. Eat here!

Great food, one of the best Bloody Mary's I've ever had, and wonderful service. We visited multiple times during our time in the area.

It has been 20 years since we were at Gwin's back in 2003 for our 20th wedding anniversary. We decided to return to Alaska for our 40th anniversary. We both have fond memories of this cute little restaurant so we returned. We were in the area for five days and only eat here once. The food was awful. My fish was way over cooked and my husband sandwich was just "OK." we waited quite a long time to even be served even though we were able to sit down immediately. The people standing behind the counter chatting, couldn't be bothered to come over and wait on us. Finally one of the girls behind the counter asked the guy who brought us water if he was waiting on us and he said that's not my table so she came running over. Maybe if y'all weren't so busy chatting you could've waited on people!

Stopped for lunch on our drive from Anchorage to Homer. Friendly and attentive service, relaxed atmosphere, and EXCELLENT fish and chips (we chose the cod).

I booked a fishing trip with Gwin’s Lodge and had an incredible day on the Kenai River. Their guide Scott was eager to plan the trip around my desire to chase rainbow trout instead of salmon. Scott’s enthusiasm and tenacity to find these rainbows even during high water conditions was truly impressive. He used his knowledge to change out fly patterns multiple times until we found what worked. We had a 20+ fish day even with challenging conditions. I will definitely book another trip with Scott and Gwin’s Lodge. Great hospitality and excellent food after an epic day on the river.

Went to the restaurant at Gwin's lodge. As I arrived angels fell from the heavens disguised as fried pickles. I consumed them and they tickled my tongue as they welcomed me to their heavenly place. Staff catered to my every need and at the end of my meal, they told me they loved me. I cried in joy all the way home.

Our family (Daughter, sons and 2 grandkids) just returned from a fishing vacation from July 11th-20th and stayed at Gwin’s Lodge-Roadhouse in Cooper Landing Alaska. We rented the lower-level Alder cottage and everything was in excellent shape and very clean and well organized. We had eight in our party and it really allowed us to have enough space to be comfortable. The only slight negative was the living room and one bedroom are affected by the occasional upper cottage ceiling noise but we understood that when we booked so not a complaint. We found the store counter staff to be friendly and customer focused especially when we asked for more towels and toiletries. In addition the on-site restaurant offered excellent menu items and was very convenient after a long day of sockeye fishing. The restaurant staff were also friendly and accommodating especially with our multiple item “to-go” orders. In closing we wo

We were in Cooper Landing for the month of July. Needless to say we spent some time at Gwin’s. Whether it was for food, a beer after fishing, music, ice, or just to grab some delish salmon dip to go, these guys nailed it! The crew here kicks a$$! Janice, Kash, Julia, Devon, Wally (great soup!!), and a shout out to the the shack guy making the awesome dip!! Hunter in the shop was great and Scott was very professional. Thanks to all of you; you rock!Shelley & Russ Currie

I've been coming to Gwin's breakfast and lunch as a 20 year long tradition to grab a bite after fishing the Russian river. Their food is delicious and super filling, the atmosphere is just what a fisherman would want, and the service & location is fantastic.

This is a perfect food spot after a long hike. The menu has a lot of options! The food is very good and the service is great. We had a blue cheese burger and he gobbled up quickly! Fries were crispy. I had a Cesar salad with salmon (the salmon is grilled excellently). The price is reasonable for an Alaskan restaurant. Give it a try in between hikes!
