King For A Day Campground & Charters is a family campground on the beautiful Klutina River, home to some of the world’s best red and king salmon fishing. It offers over 60 sites from cozy cabins and full hookup RV sites to tent sites right on the river. Amenities include showers, a laundromat, Wi-Fi, a tackle shop, rental gear, and a fish freezer. Guests can catch the famous Copper River Red Salmon right off the camp's sandbar, with fishing lessons available. The full-day raft charter is a great Alaskan adventure, starting with a 20+ mile side-by-side ATV ride. Experienced, knowledgeable, fun, and hardworking guides strive to give a fun experience of a lifetime on combo salmon fishing charters, as well as "small fish" charters in the upper river, using jet boats. All fishing gear and fileting are provided. The charter includes fishing from gentle pools and relaxing riverbanks, followed by a scenic float back to camp. The staff and owners are described as lovely, very nice, kind, considerate, humble, welcoming, and super informative, going out of their way to take care of guests. The campground is an amazing spot right on the river, with flat and clean sites. It is noted for being a terrific value and providing an incredible Alaskan adventure. While not "cute" or like a KOA with activities for kids, it is a perfect place for those who like to fish or want a real adventure. Nearby activities include bald eagle viewing and seeing the Northern Lights in August. Visitors should note there can be confusion over potable water and should come prepared for mosquitos, long days, and variable weather by dressing in layers and bringing waterproof pants and snacks.

Went rafting with ”Rusty”. He was fantastic! He introduced my wife to fly fishing and was very patient. She caught her first sockeye! He knew the river and where the fish were! Excellent at guiding the raft also. The river was ripppng! Great time there. Nice fish camp right on the river! Staff was very accommodating!

Had great access to the water and the owners/staff were lovely. Lots of mosquitos but that’s unavoidable!
