Towed my wife's car to S&P on a Saturday evening, filled out the drop-off form/key envelope, and hoped for the best. They diagnosed and fixed the problem, along with a couple other minor repairs I requested, and we had the vehicle back by 4 p.m. on Monday. Outstanding service!!

I was very happy with the service provided by the team at S&P. We had a water pump replaced in our Toyota. They did a great job and went above and beyond to make our experience a great one! I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Took care of my truck in a timely mannerThe original time frame after dropping off my truck was almost 3 weeks out, but they got it done way faster than expected. They did an amazing job and I will go back in the future should I run into any issues.

Thank You Mike at S&P Certified Car Care for your exceptional service. Your professionalism in diagnosing, communication and repairing our vehicle in a timely manner is top notch. If it wasn’t for the manager at Oreillys recommending your shop, we easily would’ve spent more $$$ on a new engine as suggested by both Chrysler dealerships. We Appreciate you guys taking good care of our family mini van. Keep up the great work.MannyUSAF Retired

I should preface this by saying I've been taking my vehicle here for several years. Every so often, they would do a 'courtesy inspection' for an oil change, charge for the inspection, then say I needed to replace my shocks, or add something that was either worked on recently or replaced, or that didn't need work at all. In the past, they even charged me for replacing two headlamps without replacing either one. They have even left tools inside the engine compartment. When repairing my fuel tank, they didn't 'put the nipple on' so when I got the vehicle back and tried to put fuel in, it all just fell to the ground. I had to take it back in and get it fixed. They even damaged my driver's side window, didn't tell me about it until I came in to pick it up, and just left the window down all night and day without even attempting to fix it. Which I was able to do myself, thank goodness. This last time I visited in August, 2023, would be the last time I took my vehicle here. After an oil change, they did another courtesy inspection and found that my front tie-rod was loose, my rack and pinion steering was leaking, and that I needed new shocks, again. For the third damn time in 4 years. My vehicle was not experiencing ANY symptoms prior to taking it in, so when they notified me of the work to the tune of $2,300, I said, "Take my vehicle off the rack now, and I'll come get it now," knowing that if it stayed up there any longer, I knew it would give them time to create the symptoms or doing something else to the vehicle. Because this has happened in the past. They didn't reply, wouldn't answer my calls or text messages, and the next day told me I could come and get it. I went down and got my vehicle and sure enough, it was shaking when turning, the wheel vibrating a little so I took it to another mechanic. This mechanic said that my tie-rod was in fact loose, but probably happened recently, the rack and pinion was leaking, but the shocks were great and didn't need replaced. He quoted me at $925 to do the work. We've had terrible experiences with them in the past, I feel like such an idiot for continuing to take my cars here, what a waste of time and money.

JUST TODAY...my husband went in for an oil change 4 days ago, and they told us there is $2000 worth of repairs they can't do until the 23 of August ( its the 2nd) and it is NOT SAFE TO DRIVE!!!!Needs new shocks.. There is no shaking or drifting.THEY REPLACED THE SHOCKS 3 YEARS AGO!!! 30,000 highway miles later, they need replaced.ALL this from an OIL CHANGE LIES LIES LIES I started noticing costly repairs fairly often on all the vehicles my family took there. My father would automatically pay them for anything that needed to be done. Whenever I would ask questions, I was always spoken to in a very condescending manner and brushed off. Once they had replaced the left rear brake light, it wasn't working when we brought it home. I took it back, and they charged me to replace it. Another time when we got it back, it was making strange noises. I took it there myself this time. "You replaced the shocks, and now, if we drive over a bump, it makes noises, but that had nothing to do with what you did? Even though it wasn't doing that before we brought it in?"They very patronizingly told me to leave the car there and said they would figure it out. We got the car back fixed (front sway bar apparently) at no charge but refused to admit fault.Another time They replaced something to do with the fuel. Stopped by the gas station on the way home, and when we started putting in gas, it just started spilling out underneath the car.Last year, they took care of the brakes, rotors, and alignment, charged almost $1000. It's a 08 Crossover. Now, the tires have camber damage. I was overcharged on a tire changeover, and I just found a double charge for $1,200 a few years back that I'm going to have to go find out about.Check your receipts, get a second opinion. I just got a new vehicle and refuse to take it there.

Their prices were great, in my opinion. I paid 1/3 of what the dealership charged me for the same work. They also found a safety issue, verified with me for correction, and got it done in the time frame provided. Definitely made them my auto shop for my truck.

I went to S&P as I've heard many good things about them. I only went for a regular oil change, unfortunately eventually my car started having problems that very quickly turned into a serious issue and the car became unsafe to drive without causing additional damage to the engine. After a few days of troubleshooting myself and eventually scheduling an appointment with my main mechanic who is exceptional and for that reason has longer waiting times, he was able to find the issue after a few days of examining the camshaft and surrounding/related areas. S&P forgot to place back a crucial piece of my car's oil filter housing that resulted in the oil filter being crushed causing oil pressure issues, therefore the camshaft and timing being off. My mechanic replaced the housing, changed the oil and I went to S&P to see how they can make this right. I understand that even experienced mechanics will make mistakes, we're humans and I went there with this in mind. Unfortunately right of the bat I was met with condescending comments and heavy implication I was lying about this and just overall bad attitude and rudeness. S&P reimbursed the oil filter housing but immediately denied any other liability for potential damage or my acquired cost for the time I had to rent a car. More rude comments were made to my back as I was leaving, mind you I was very polite and understanding the whole time. If they managed to approach this in a polite manner and admitted their fault (again we're humans and I totally get things like this will inevitably happen) I would have left with a different opinion of this shop. I am sure they are ok mechanics but I would definitely not recommend this shop just for how they've dealt with an issue that was so clearly something they did. It's also obvious their attention to detail is not that great...Service: Oil change

Edit:2 years later and I am still a satisfied customer. Just got my truck back today from having some work done. Can't say enough good about the S&P team. They have remained consistent in quality, service and communication.Original Post:I am so glad I chose S&P Car Care. This was my first experience with S&P, and I was more than impressed. I had been a loyal customer of 10 years to a place in Anchorage until a recent owner change and was apprehensive about finding a new place I could come to trust. I had tried another place in town, but was not pleased. Driving by S&P everyday, I thought I would try them out. And am so glad I did. What I appreciated:1. I was asked to make an appointment with the reason being that they could provided more focused attention on my needs and any issues that may be discovered. I thought this was a brilliant idea and made me feel like my vehicle would recieve top notch service (reducing a tech's need to do a "rush job")2. The communication was over the top. I recieved a couple emails regarding my appointment. I got texts from the tech with estimates and status updates. And I recieved solid follow up. The experience really shows how much S&P values the customer and provides a level of assurance in their work that I rarely experience with any service industry3. My vehicle runs so much better now. Not only was the customer service great, but the work was solid. I have put a couple hundred miles on since the service call and am impressed with how solid my truck feels now.4. I wasn't pressured into more work and felt like their diagnostic was spot on. I went in having a pretty good idea of what the problem was, and wanted to see what they recommended. It was exactly what I suspected. They didnt try to pull any stunts to get me on the hook for more repairs. I really appreciate their integrity.5. The final price was fair and their rates are competitive. I always hate the feeling of walking away from a purchase and feeling disatified with the cost relative to the return. With my visit with S&P, I actually felt like I got a really good deal.S&P has definately earned my future business. And I will gladly recommend them to anyone with vehicle service needs.

My buddy called me saying his truck was making a weird noise as he was driving out to eagle river. He ended up taking it to this shop. They told him he needed new brakes (he did) and a new front differential. (Also correct) they quoted him $4000 to do the work. I told him to let me look into it. I was able to find him a used differential. ($250 + $75 with shipping from Fairbanks. More then likely the same one the shop would have found) break pads, new seals, differential fluid and a few extra parts ($140) my other buddy and I were able to have the diff replaced in less then 5 hours. (Keep in mind my other buddy’s daughter was at my shop when we removed the differential so we were tending to her as well. And it took a little over a week for the new differential to get to us and we took time going through it to make sure everything was good to go to install it.)Had we found the diff locally I think we could have got it out and installed with in about 4 hours. We don’t do this every day. I own a lawn care company and my buddy works on the slope and does small engine work. So I’m sure a shop would be able to get it done much faster. For my friends time in helping out my buddy paid him $300. So in total out the door it cost my buddy $765.00. I still can’t for the life of me understand why this shop was going to charge him $4000 for $465 in parts and maybe about 4 hours tops in labor. I get material cost mark up and what not. But deduct the $465 from the $4000 quote and divide that by the maybe 4 hours for them to do the job. That’s $883.75 a hour. Lmao. Do not use this company. Go anywhere else and please compare estimates with other shops.

It’s unfortunate to be referred to a company that was talked up by many only to be turned away. For something as simple as an alignment. Their alignment machine couldn’t work on a suv with a 3.5” lift and a set of wheel spacers. The shop that they referred me to however were able to get me squared away. So I can at least say thank you for that.
