Manipulative and dishonest. Prey upon customers in particular when military spouses are deployed or out to training.

This is the place to get fuel deliveries. So much easier to deal with than places like sourdough.

Love this place. It's affordable and they usually come before the time they say they will. It's an easy process to order as well. Use it for both my properties I have here in Alaska.

Not a bad place to get heating oil, usually not too busy. Sometimes they also have the best price, but it definitely varies. Since they put in new pumps at the Cushman St location it's definitely a lot better, before they were painfully slow. One thing to know is that if you need a receipt you better go elsewhere, not once has it successfully printed me one, but for me it's not an issue and I enjoy the convenience of not waiting in long lines.

I get my heating oil from here 9/10 times. They're almost always the cheapest in town.

They are honest and give a military discount. I called around, and as I recall, the price was competetive

I usually go get my own fuel But my fuel tank was froze to the ground Brown. I called Alaska field service and by ordering 300 gallons it was only going to be about 40 cents a gallon for delivery so I said OK when can you do it I understood them to say January 10th and was set back a little bit when they asked me to prepay prepay almost 2 weeks in advance advance. I decided to go ahead and trust them and do so so. I also let them know that I was already out of fuel and would appreciate it if they could get earlier especially since I was only 2 blocks away I call back almost a week later And they're telling me that they told me it would be January 20th period no way would I prepay something 20 days in advance for field delivery. I'm not financing their company in their company. I think it's appropriate if it's only a couple of days before delivery but when it gets past that I think it is inappropriate. I canceled my delivery I will manage to get my fuel tank unstuck unstuck and go get my own fuel and save a $120

Disappointed... I ordered fuel from them and got a receipt from them that showed price per gallon, amount of gallons, taxes and total price. But I was very surprised that they charged more than receipt showed. When I called them, I got explanation that I ordered more than I actually take into the tank, so the per gallon price is higher. Well, even if it is so, in all normal stores we get a receipt for what we pay. And if the price is incorrect, then it is on the store, not on the customer. Next time I should check other companies.

I don’t know why I didn’t share a review sooner. I’ve been getting fuel delivered from these folks the entire time I’ve lived in Fairbanks. They always have the best price and their front office is friendly and helpful. There was one occasion where a driver got stuck in my unplowed driveway and he called me to tell me (I was out of town at the time). He was pleasant over the phone, so I told him no worries. Alaska Fuel Services came and got their fuel truck unstuck and then ON TOP of that removed the snow and hard pack from my driveway and the road to my house. That was about three or four years ago now, but they really went above and beyond. Since then, I occasionally call around to price check other places and they consistently have the best price. Any weird request I’ve had, the office seems to be able to accommodate with no issue. 10/10 recommend.

The staff seems nice, However I am disappointed they refused to deliver to my home this December citing issues with my driveway. I have regular deliveries from large vehicles, as well as their are a number of ways to approach my driveway. I feel like they must have decided it wasn't worth any effort or inconvenience on their part.

At the moment my opinion couldn't be lower. I ran out of heating oil 24 HOURS ago. I'm broke till payday, no worries. I called a good friend to help me out till payday. She called in this morning, even agreed to the exorbitant $145 "emergency call out" fee. Yup, you see that correctly. All day... I wait. All afternoon... I wait. All evening... I wait. It was after 8p when I realized THEY JUST FORGOT ME. And they DO NOT have an after hours answering service. Seriously?! WHAT DOES THAT $145 **EMERGENCY CALL OUT** FEE TELL YOU, AFS??? Good thing it's not too cold out (-14°F). So all night... again... I will wait. I am freezing but my blood is boiling. Just wait till I get ahold of them! This morning when my friend asked me who I normally call, I answered AK Petroleum or Sourdough Fuel. She called these guys (AFS) by accident but said they had my address in their system. I'm a super loyal customer; do me right and I'll stick with you until you do me wrong. That (or this) explains why I switched companies at some point!!

Called today to purchase heating oil spoke with a very nice and professional woman I believed named Sarah. Versus it usually being a hassle to get it delivered in a timely manner it was painless. The price and friendly staff ensures I will be going through them for my heating oil needs.

Similar experience to others. I'm on the autofill program, the whole point of which is to not run out of fuel. Woke up on a Saturday morning to a 50degree house, completely out of fuel. Ridiculous! and of course no emergency number. Will be changing fuel providers ASAP.
