Wait for 40min for shuttle, but shuttle hadn’t come. The hotel said that we can call a taxi and they will pay for it, but after we arrived they said it is the wrong company, they cannot pay.

Nice little hotel close to airport with breakfast 15 min away from downtown. Mostly very quiet only when the upstairs or neighbors was yelling or running you will hear the sounds otherwise the room is not bad with microwave and refrigerator those are the plus and just wish the toilet not so scary when you flash and the ac was quite loud when it started. There's not much view to see at night anyway. The little breakfast area is not bad you can have different things and choice to eat.Nearby activities: Driving or taxi to downtown or University Alaska are both 15 minutesFood & drinks: There's a coffee shop with food next to it if you want something quick

I’d give a one star if I can. Avoid staying here during the winter time as they are NOT accommodating at all.We got stuck on the Dalton Highway on a guided tour which left early in the morning 9am and didn’t return until 6am the next day due to an accident en route. We had no service in the mountains and couldn’t contact the hotel in any possible way. We finally got to the hotel at 6am the day of checkout and they told us the reservation was canceled without any possible refund. We were already cold and starving and had no extra energy to fight the rude front desk girl. She had the worst attitude I’ve ever seen as a receptionist and offered zero to none help. Not even calling a manager.

Art was so helpful with breakfast. He cleaned our table so we could sit somewhere because the people before us left a mess. Breakfast was always spot on in quality and timing. I always saw him monitoring to ensure things didn't run out. The girls at the from desk were so kind. Our dog suddenly needed emergency surgery at the end of our stay and they offered to help in anyway they could as he couldn't walk and they saw I was so worried. The room was very clean and so was the rest of the building. Just an outstanding stay. I will be giving this best western my bussiness again and telling others that I was very impressed with the quality I received. Thank you for everything team!

This is your basic BW Plus. Our room was fine. The BW had to move the couple that we are traveling with to another room. The room heater was not working properly.

Do not stay here.Other reviews have said it and they were right. First and foremost someone attempted to break into a room the night we stayed. Luckily, the guest's teenager son was able to fight him off. The Front Desk staff knew about it and took zero steps to support the guests. EDIT: the staff in the morning were very attentive. It was only the only night shift that was non-responsive.When we checked in at 12:30, there was a gentleman who "matched" the attackers description hanging out with the front desk person.Speaking of the front desk staff, she had to be convinced to come to the desk to check us in. It took over an hour. Our keys didn't work the first time and when I went back down, a new group of guests were there and she was once again missing. It took another half hour to find her again.Once you get to the rooms they are disgusting. Read Kelly's review below. We were also on the 3rd floor. It stank of smoke and the heater was a fire hazard. Also, there is no "shuttle" the hotel will just cover the taxi. This is less of a complaint and more FYI to save you time. They don't answer the phone so you'll waste a lot of time calling. There are three hotels you pass on the way to this one. Save yourself the trouble and stay at one of those.EDIT: The hotel responded below. They're unfortunately mistaken. We checked in at midnight and the break in was at 2:30 am. The next morning the woman who experienced the break-in was also complaining about the front desk lack of response. They're implying that it was because she was busy supporting them. But this is incorrect. My impression was that the front desk staff was intoxicated somehow.Noteworthy details: It's gross.

Would not stay again.Front desk did not answer phone when we arrived at the airport at midnight (for shuttle).Took an hour or so to find the front desk at check-in.When we finally found her the room Keyes did not work at we had to go back down and find her again.Dirty room. The heater/AC didn'twork/looked dangerous. It was missing parts.Room smelled like an ex smoking room.

DO NOT STAY HERE!! I have never written a review of a hotel but I am doing so in the hopes no one else has to make the mistake of staying here. I do not know how this hotel got all these good reviews. I started off in a room on the third floor. It wasn’t super clean but I took a shower and decided to make the best of it. Then I discovered something was wrong with the air conditioner and asked for a different room. That room smelled so strongly of cigarette smoke I didn’t even make it in the door. Then I was given a room on the first floor. I do not know what the smell was in that room but it was horrible. At that point, I gave up. I got the hotel for a little over $100 off of their website. It was over $300 on all the other websites. All I can figure, based on the other good reviews, is that they gave me the nasty rooms because I didn’t pay full price. I’m not sure, but I wouldn’t take a chance on it if I were you.Rooms: Disgusting

Then emailed general manager and response was the pictures on the website give an accurate overview.Avoid this place for a enjoyable visit to FairbanksNearby activities: Not on Chena river and definitely not a lodge. Way over priced for what you get!!Will not ever stay there again!!

Zero stars is not available. This review is in no particular order.1-check in was smooth except for my room key not working three times. 2-I did not book a handicapped room but that what they put me in because nothing else was available for an 11 day stay. 3-pool closed, open, closed. 4-no air conditioning was told to open a window as there are no fans available. The window opened 4" but fresh cool air was blocked by blackout shades. 5-room cleaning or lack of. Fresh towels and nothing else. No fresh sheets no trash being emptied. 6-staff had no energy to fix any of the above. They literally said they don't care, twice! Management was never available or out of state.7-my shower was 2'x5'. No way to take a shower without touching the gross shower curtain or flooding the bathroom of I left it open. Don't stay here. Pay more for ANYTHING else in Fairbanks.

I have stayed at this hotel for years since I often work nearby when I travel to Fairbanks. The staff are friendly and the breakfast is always better than the normal continental fare you expect from hotel chains. The rooms are nice and beds are comfortable.
