I have been using this service for several years now and am generally happy with them. It was a great relief when I was able to switch over from ACS abysmal DSL and terrible customer service. If you have line of site to any of Mountain Beams antennas I recommend them. My only complaint thus far with Mountain Beam is that if your antenna gets out of adjustment due to the antenna being jostled or something like brush or a tree top obscures the signal the only way you'll know about it is if you notice your bill going up as they will charge you if your signal gets degraded for whatever reason. And it's up to you to figure out how to access and adjust the antenna. I'm pretty Tech savvy and it's been a bit of a learning curve and Mountain Beam will not come do it for you and they will not proactively inform you that there's a problem with your signal. so be aware and monitor your bill. But all in all I'm happy to have them.

I have been using Mountain Beam, who started out as FAI5G, for about 2 years. Just had my monthly rate increase $35 without any warning. I texted them and their first response about whether there was an error in my bill was "no. dollar is worthless now...prices are pegged to oil, gold, and bitcoin.....PAY AS YOU GO and not CONTRACT". I'm very confused at this and, later on in our text discussion, I receive the following: “please stop paying us if you do not want service........... we have more clients to replace you who are willing to pay more. sorry if you can not afford us. we do not believe internet is a right like WATER or LIBERTY there are several cheaper alternatives like hot-spots and driving to local library. While we aim to service the entire community there are 100,000 people in this county and it IS SUPPLY AND DEMAND. THERE are lower cost options starting at $43.80 to $56.40 per 30 days for only 8Mnbps”

Mountain beam is always professional and responds in a timely manner. This is a great Internet service to have in rural Alaska

This has been the best internet service we have been able to get in years! They are super easy to work with and great service. Andrew has come out both to set up and fine-tune our system and pays close attention to how we can get the best speeds. I only had to remove a few birch trees and saw an instant improvement in speed. It’s the fastest, least-interrupted internet service we have ever been able to get in the goldstream area

This internet is great. By far the best internet you can get if you're not able to hook up to GCI or ACS. I have the 40/40 plan and I'm getting 50 ms latency. They also have great customer service and will help you make sure your set up is working good. If you're out of town and in range of their antennas then I highly recommend them. Plus there's no contract so you can try it out with no strings attached.
