George Inlet Lodge offers a popular excursion, often booked through cruise lines, featuring an all-you-can-eat Dungeness crab feast described as fabulous, delicious, amazing, and life-changing. Guests enjoy multiple rounds of fresh crab legs, with staff teaching how to properly eat them. The meal includes soup, salmon dip, and blueberry cheesecake, with chicken dishes available as an alternative. The experience often includes a fun competition to build the tallest stack of crab shells. The adventure begins with a short boat ride where guests might see wildlife like eagles and sea lions and observe a crab pot being pulled. Transportation is provided from the cruise dock, with drivers sometimes pointing out sights like wild bears. The staff is consistently noted as friendly, knowledgeable, funny, and accommodating, including assistance for ADA needs. The venue has a small gift shop and clean facilities. Many guests consider this their best Alaskan adventure, a highlight of their trip, and highly recommend it, with some planning return visits.
