“Visited the shop in October, great selection and prices. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. We order a Ulu knife to be shipped to our home for a very reasonable shipping fee, it arrived in great shape and was packaged well. I also had the pleasure of speaking with the owner in regards to shipment information and he was incredibly kind and helpful. A must stop for anyone planning a visit Ketchikan.”
“Seemingly lover prices then the competitors. Even the same items i saw in other towns had lower price in this store. Salmon caviar was $10 cheaper, canned salmon was about $5 cheaper. Definitely recommend this place for your souvenirs.”
“The cutest fish platters that you have to have if you live in Alaska, serve salmon or want a unique gift from Alaka. The Polish pottery dishes are gorgeous, fitting for a family heirloom collection - a bit pricy but it's on my wish list. Unique blank card collection that depicts Alaska scenes well.”
“This is a great little shop with unique, locally crafted items. I bought two beautiful etched glass wine glasses. They did not survive the trip home though. I tried to call to order replacements and have them shipped, but the number listed is not a working number. :(”
“The store isn't bad but the little fudge shop inside of this store is amazing!! I wanted to sample the fudge but I wasn't planning on buying. However, it was so good we bought 6 pieces! We snacked on it as we walked around Ketchikan. Before we got back on our cruise ship we bought 6 more pieces!! It was hands down the best fudge I've ever had. The Oreo peanut butter flavor was the best!! It's been a year since we were in Alaska and I'm still craving this fudge. I actually just looked up this store to see if they ship their fudge. Looks like we will have to wait til we can go back.”
“An absolute hidden gem in Ketchikan! If you make it out to see the beautiful totem poles here, take a few minutes to check out this awesome little shop!
Great deals to be found on handmade souvenirs and friendly faces are to be found here!”
“Not only great selection for sale, but the gal at the checkout was so sweet. We got chatting and I walked out without my credit card. Not only did she hang on to it, but after I returned to the cruise ship after retrieving it, I learned she had contacted all the boats to alert them I had left it. So kind of her. She set up the otter display... send her my thanks!”
“Ketchikan Mining Company is a great place to buy gifts. You can find something for every taste. The staff are very courteous, but the souvenirs are a little expensive.”
“My review is strictly for the ice cream - we were not really in the market for souvenirs. But our bus driver had tipped us off earlier in the day that this was the place to go for ice cream, and she was right! $5 for one scoop, $5.75 for two! We planned to share two scoops, but there were so many great flavors that we ended up each getting our own. There is even a small seating area by the ice cream counter. Perhaps all of the overpricing of merchandise mentioned in other reviews is what allows for this spectacular ice cream value, so maybe buy souvenirs elsewhere and take advantage of it!”
“Visited the store in September...very quaint and staff were helpful. They even wrapped my ornaments extra so they would not break when flying home! Got home and the more I thought about this one whale tail ornament the more I wished I had purchased it. Decided to order online. Got my package yesterday and my ornament was wrapped with fantastic care so it wouldn't break! Thank you for taking the extra step to ensure my ornaments didn't break!”
“Jesus, Wendy and Crystal have the best store out of all the stores in Skagway, Juneau, and Ketchikan. They were the kindest and most helpful folks we came across on our cruise. We’ve met multiple local shop owners that were great, but this store was different. High quality items sold with love!”
